WOW!! That engine looks really good. I can understand how hard it is to make a game engine from scratch.
I had a game development class and we had to make a game engine from scratch in flash. My group tried to make a platformer and failed miserably.
Great job!

I like how the little guy's walk looks like he's dancing. I really like this. Your sketches have a lot of character to them which I look forward to seeing in the final product and the dragon design is very cool. I can see the McFarlane's Dragons influence there with the folded up wings. The flight animation on the dragon is a little stiff but I know that this is an early build and you are working with limited resources. I can't wait to hear/see more about this as it progresses.
Outta curiosity, have you ever played Elan Doree for the Saturn? It uses the "dragon rider" thing, though within a tourney fighter.
Anyways, best of luck on the project!

I certainly won't be dragon my heels to play this!
Sorry. But it does look like a swell little game. I'm eager to see how it comes out.

Wow you should do a Develepor's Diary for this game. It looks great. It's really inspiring me to learn how to start making my own games. =) I'm eager to see more.
Thanks for the input guys! Glad you like it so far. I do agree that the flying is a little stiff at the moment, but it's something I'm constantly working on and improving. I initially had the flying really fast paced, with stuff streaming past you, but it was impossible to navigate anything and it wasn't that fun.
@Bulletmagnet: I haven't! But thanks for telling me. Just watching that short video gave me a bunch of new ideas for dragon mobility and attacks. Very much appreciated, sir!
@SteezyXL: If you are at all interested in game development you should learn Flash. It's so easy even 12 year olds can make games with it, and sites like www.flashkit.com and www.kirupa.com make it easier than ever to find information on how to program all kinds of games.

Great job! Keep it up! You seem to have a lot of gameplay ideas running in your mind right now. I suggest trying a small set of it first and keep adding the components until you hit the best balance of elements - varied enough to keep the game interesting but not too much that other features look tacked on.
