So today I turn the big 21. I am now considered, by most standards, an adult. Looking back at my years on this Earth, and all that I've been through, it makes me happy to know I've come this far and not completely fucked everything up; and for that, I'm thankful.
I usually don't give a rats ass about my birthday, but the reality of turning 21 is not something easily overlooked. It's a marker for your life and all that you have done up until that point, but not only that, it is a sign of everything that is yet to come.
So much do I have planned for this life of mine, intentions of running this body in to the ground from adventuring and exploring places all over the world. It's exciting to think about all that I have to see and do, and turning 21 just reaffirms this happiness.
In conclusion, I want to say thanks to everyone here for providing a rich tapestry of opinions and experiences. I look forward to many, many more.
Also, I decided to check out what else happened on October the 13th , 1987, and found out that on the day I was born, the first ever trained dolphins were used for military operations. Go dolphins!
It's my Birthday today, too, but I'm 23. 1985, the year of Nintendo. :P
Happy Birthday to you, Skribble.
Also, I love your Dead Space banner. Did you make that yourself?
@mr durand pierre: cheers! I made it ages ago, just a straight screencapture from a youtube video.
1. "You did WHAT to her while she was asleep??!?!"
2. "....but it's my birthday"
1. "You fucking creep.... wait, your birthday?... shit, well, i guess we can let it slide this time. Go on and have another drink you scamp"
