Why once again I am "The best Mega Man 9 player on Dtoid" ...

Yesterday I titled myself "the best Mega Man 9 player on Destructoid" and challenged the entire Dtoid community to attempt to beat my best Mega Man 9 completion time of 56:51. I didn't think anyone was up to the challenge, but then pedrovay2003 swooped down and took over my throne by beating the game in 45:58 and doing it without dying a single time. By doing this he pretty much threw down the gauntlet and challeneged me to beat what seemed like an almost impossible feat. At first I was very hesitant, but I finally decided to accept his challenge.

Well I would like to announce that I am once again the "best Mega Man 9 player on Destructoid", because I have not only beaten the game without dying, but I have done it in only 40:22.

Check out the images below for proof of this amazing accomplishment. I would once again like to challenge anyone out there who thinks they can match my incredible skillz to beat this time, and to do so without dying. Is anyone up to the challenge?

@Wilbo: No you posted that tip before I had a chance to use it, but it doesn't matter because I never would be able to use it. The order I do the bosses in has me fighting Concrete Man last, so I wouldn't have his weapon available to me when I ran through Magma Man's stage. Thanks for the tip though man. :-)

Seriously though, nice. I'm at the Wily stages and my time's around 1 hr 45 mins.

Unrelated: any tips for beating that double amoeba boss with the eyeball thing? You know what I'm talking about.

use the black hole bomb grayfox
and as soon as the core takes damage just pause then unpause it and fire again repeat until victory

thats the best possible way of beating it

You're accomplishments and your TV fill me with jealous rage. Also, I did Concrete Man 2nd, because the L. Trident destroys. And because Splash Woman is the easiest boss, IMO.

@pedrovay2003: Honestly man I think at this point the only way to up one another besides getting a lower time is to beat the game without getting hit once ("Blue Bomber" challenve) or to beat the game without using any energy or mystery tanks ("No Coffee Break" challenge). I personally don't want to even attempt either of those.

blue bomber is just to kill a boss without getting hit i think not the whole game

actually no coffee break isnt even that hard. For Wily use a half damage and that little red dude to replenish your health if you need it.

On the other hand, not getting hit the whole game, beating all the bosses with one health pellet, and not picking up any (or a little) energy pellets seems impossible to me. But if i had to do it I'd do the first and last one i mentioned at the same time.

Actually I haven't tried but does anyone know for the "not missing with the mega buster" challenge include the use of sub weapons?

Well guys after very careful consideration I do believe I am going to retire from the game of Mega Man 9. I have pretty much played this game so much that my thumbs have calleses on them. I am honestly pretty sure that I have effectively memorized every single part of every single level of this game. So I bid it fare well.
