Why I am the best Mega Man 9 player on Dtoid ...
SilverDragon1979 | 12:30 AM on 10.05.2008 31 comments

... because I beat the game in only 56 minutes and 51 seconds, achieving the "Jitterbug" challenge for completing the entire game in under 60 minutes.

You can find visual proof of this crazy accomplishment below. Yes it might be a stretch to say I'm the "best" Mega Man 9 player on Dtoid, but right now I am so high after accomplishing this I don't really care how big my ego looks. I had to play through the game 5 times to get this achievement and I'm going to bask in the glory of it while I can.

Is there anyone else out there who can prove that they have accomplished this outrageous feat?

With a few days practice, I can beat your time. I know I can and accept your challenge to do so. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but when I finally do decide finish Mega Man 9 a few times over, I can beat that time.
Scrixx's Destructoid Blog
Nice job but fucking sweet setup dude!
SilverDragon1979's Destructoid Blog
Bring it on RandomBullseye! I'm up for a good challenge. If I wanted to play through it again I think I could maybe get under 50 minutes if I made no mistakes at all, but I think that might be asking to much. There is only so many times I can throw my controller across the room before it shatters into pieces.

Get the achievement for beating the game without dying, then I'll be impressed ;)
Torzelan's Destructoid Blog
Sweet!
michiyoyoshiku's Destructoid Blog
on what system though?

Do that with the analog and I will be impressed
pedrovay2003's Destructoid Blog
Now beat the game without getting damaged a single time.

Congratzzzzzzzz!
Tubatic's Destructoid Blog
beat the Wii Verson with your nose, tongue right, right thumb knuckle and pinky toe and I will be impressed. :p

well done :) Perhaps I'll step up to that challenge of yours!
shipero's Destructoid Blog
Beat it on the 360, d-pad only, no damage, blindfolded, while an angry sociopath goes to town on your knees with a tack hammer. Then, and only then, will you earn my respect.
Y0j1mb0's Destructoid Blog
What a coincidence, I just beat my first Mega Man 9 Boss in that exact time!!

Nice work, dude! By the way, it's "feat," not "feet."

Obviously photoshopped.

Nice job man!

@Michiyoyoshiku: I accomplished this on the PSN version, using the D-pad. Who in their right mind would attempt to play this game using the analog stick?

@Samit: I just want to point out I suck at spelling, especially at 2AM in the morning when I wrote this.
Conrad Zimmerman's Destructoid Blog
I've done it on Wii and 360 (using analog only). On that same 360 run, I completed without continuing, defeated 6 Robot Masters in less than ten seconds and defeated Wily in under 180 seconds.
SilverDragon1979's Destructoid Blog
@Conrad: Nice man, but I also did this without continueing, defeating 6 robots in under 10 seconds, and defeating Dr. Wily in under 180 seconds. I'm having a hard time defeating Galaxy Man and Concrete man in under 10 seconds. I have to give you MAJOR props though for doing this on the 360 with the analog stick. In my opinion there is just no accuracy with the analog stick.
Infinitys End's Destructoid Blog
Beat the game without ever getting hit, and i'll be impressed. otherwise, you're just a douchebag that thinks you can get fake gamer cred by posting these photos.

Sorry, I couldn't see your score on account of your tiny TV.

Cataract's Destructoid Blog
Your only the best MM9 player on Dtoid because I still have yet to get the game.

:P

...holy shit. You have the patience of a saint.
Conrad Zimmerman's Destructoid Blog
@SilverDragon1979: The analog isn't as bad as I anticipated, although performing a quick turn with it is an exercise in futility.
Holyetheline's Destructoid Blog
Good job. I am at the end levels... when I beat them I will go through the game a few more times and hopefully I can compete with that.
SilverDragon1979's Destructoid Blog
@Conrad: I wonder if the analog control on the XBOX360 is better then on the PS3. I haven't tried it on the XBOX360 so i don't know how it is, but I can tell you that on the PS3 it's not very responsive.
EternalDeathSlayer's Destructoid Blog
I can't even beat the game.....
Aziel13's Destructoid Blog
quite possibly whiles you were playing MM9 I was getting head
win win
Kaythanksbye2's Destructoid Blog
I thought this challenge would be really hard to complete, but my roommate did it with seemingly little problem.
Arttemis's Destructoid Blog
Just downloaded this game yesterday morning (after my PS3 just got back from getting the BluRay drive replaced).

Being my first run, I've beaten all but Hornet Man and Magma Man in just under 5 hours so far. I'd love to give this challenge a try, though.

My roommates and I are enjoying the shit out of the game. God, it's great!...
(but I really want to finish SW:tFU)

When it comes to video games I am obsessive-compulsive about beating them. If I start a game I must finish it. No matter how bad, or how hard it is I will not rest until the ending credits have rolled across the screen. Like Bruce Hornsby says ... that's just the way it is!
