The Most Amazing Office Prank I’ve Ever Pulled!
SilverDragon1979 | 5:24 PM on 11.17.2008 36 comments

So today was my buddy Ross’s 40th birthday. Since turning 40 is a pretty big deal, me and a bunch of his friends got together and decided we were going to pull some type of huge prank on him. After a large amount of debating we decided to wrap his entire office in aluminum foil. Well luckily for us he decided to take Friday off to relax and play Wrath of the Lich King, so that gave us the entire day to prepare his office to be ready for when he came in on Monday (today).

Well let me just say that wrapping an entire office in aluminum foil is no laughing matter. First of all his office is pretty large at around 12’ x 12’ with a 9’ ceiling. He also happens to have A LOT of stuff in his office, including lots of books, files, and circuit boards. We decided early on that we would not half ass this prank, and that meant that every single square foot and item in his office would be wrapped completely in aluminum foil. It was quite a monumental task, but we were up to the challenge.

Well around noon on Friday we went to the store and bought 1500 sq. ft. of industrial strength aluminum foil, and by 1PM we had begun wrapping. It took 4 of us around 4 hours to wrap his entire office, but as you can see from the pictures it was totally worth it. In the end we ended up wrapping every single part of his office with the exception of the ceiling, which would have just required way to much extra effort.

Well when Ross came into work this morning he was actually not that surprised when he opened his office door to an aluminum paradise. He said he had expected something crazy from us and we had delivered, with style. Luckily he seemed to laugh it off and he even left all the aluminum foil up all day.

Let me just close by saying this is truly the most amazing office prank I have ever pulled. I turn 30 next year, and I’m wondering what kind of cruel prank will be pulled on me. Only time will tell.

I’ve included lots of pictures of Ross’s office, so enjoy and let me know what you think.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA. that's great, and original!

The best part is that you left his phone(I think?), keyboard and monitor screen unfoiled, as if to say

"HEY, you can STILL work in the office, even with the shit ton of foil!!'

That is SPECTACULAR.

I'm also jealous that you can get away with stuff like that at work, I don't think I've worked anywhere that trying something of that magnitude of awesome wouldn't have resulted in being escorted from the premises.

What he didn't realize was that the real prank was that his chair was rigged to collapse when he sat in it.

Nice! I've always wanted to do this.

My room mates once filled my bedroom (and another room mate's bedroom) completely full of balloons while we were away one weekend. I'm talking floor-to-ceiling.

One guy takes off on Friday to play WoW, and the rest of you spend the whole day setting up an elaborate prank.

Are you guys hiring?

A car full of packing peanuts is a good recommendation. Pass it along to your co-worker. It sure worked for me.
