It’s time for another installment of Random Musings of Dragon … Enjoy …
1) After reading/watching Kryptinite’s c-blog about his new dreamcast, I discovered that my pristine, never opened copy of Grandia II is a pretty hot commodity. Yes as you can see from the image below I own an original Dreamcast copy of Grandia II that has NEVER BEEN UNWRAPPED. My friend bought it for me 8 years ago when the game first came out and this girl I was dating at the time stole my Dreamcast before I got a chance to even unwrap it. To this day she still has my Dreamcast … and I have still left this game wrapped in the hope I will one day get the chance to play it … I’m still waiting for that day …
2) ThisYearsPink is easily one of the coolest new members to the Dtoid community. If you have not checked out her blog you really should. She already has some very well thought out and very well written posts. Seriously … check out her blog ... you’ll be glad you did.
3) The internet is full right now of people complaining about Diablo 3. People are complaining that it’s not what they were expecting it to be, or it looks to much like
Diablo 2.5, or it’s just to damn colorful. I swear though that there are even more people complaining about the people complaining about
Diablo 3. I honestly don’t know which group is worse.
4) Apparently Yojimbo’s skin is made of hardened skin, and his bones are reinforced with Adamantium. Neither stick, stones, or words can hurt him.
5) Every time I tried to defend XBOX Live the last week I was painted as an XBOX360 fanboy by the Dtoid community. I’m honestly am not a big fan of this considering I bought my 60Gb PS3 almost 6 months before I bought my XBOX360. I love my PS3, but the truth of the matter is the PS3 online network is still not up to part with XBOX Live. People just need to come to terms with this and get over it. Eventually the PS3 online will be just as good if not better then XBOX Live and I won’t have to defend Live anymore.
6) Seriously … where is my damn SSX sequel??? EA has still not seen fit to put out a true SSX sequel on the XBOX360/PS3 and it really pisses me off. Get on this you money hording bastards.
7) I’m 2 years late to the party, but I’ve finally gotten a chance to sit down and play Gears of War. I decided to play it on the hardcore difficulty and let me tell you this game is freaking HARD !!! I have definitely thrown my controller across the room a couple of times. Since I’m to damn stubborn to turn down the difficulty I will continue to put myself through this nightmare.
8) WALL-E and WANTED were both freaking incredible movies. If you haven’t seen them you really should. They are both definitely two of the best movies of the year so far.
9) I managed to not blow myself up this weekend lighting fireworks. My girlfriend is very happy about this fact.
Well that’s it for this week. Check back next week for more random musings of a dragon.
Why do you have to taunt me? That's just wrong.
Also, FUCK YEAH to number 8.
What is this girls name? (LOL) We should pay her a little visit and remove the DC from her dirty hands. In the name of justice!!!
2, 3 and 4? Agreed.
I'm very pleased that Diablo 3 is coming out, as I'm a big fan of the previous two (and a half) games. They're a great team for balancing the play and from what they've shown already, I know I'm going to love it. The haters and the hater-haters can go argue with each other somewhere else.
Hahaha you will never have that KRYP
Yes! The return of awesome Dragon pics, woohoo!
1)God I wish I had a Dreamcast... and that game. Fuck you :-P (color me jealous, it matches my shoes)
3)As great as Blizzard games are, they seem to bring out the worst of people sometimes, I swear.
7) Don't feel bad, I have yet to play that one too. Some day.
8) I loved Wanted, I'll probably pass on WALL-E as I doubt their are any headshots in that movie, muwahaha >:-)
9) Congrats, lol. Bombs are Grrrreat! Scars are also sexy, at least thats what the freaky chick I met at a party once told me.
Hey, thanks for #2. Wait, that sounds wrong. But, yeah, thanks :)
Oh, and I'm so tempted to psychoanalyze you on the still-in-plastic Grandia II. But I'll resist.
And hooray for not killing yourself with fireworks. Every year, CNN does a story about one really bad fireworks event...then it uses the last few paragraphs of the story to enumerate a whole bunch of other accidents.
Anyway, nice post.
Oh, and as for the movies. I recommend Hancock. The first half is way better than the last half, but it's still very funny.
@Thisyearspink: You are very welcome. :-)
I have to say I am slightly interested to hear your psychoanalization of my still-in-plastic copy of Grandia 2. Being a girl and a teacher you should be rather good at psychoanalyzing things.
For everyone that cares about Diablo 3, read this article. Many lulz are to be had within
I heard Wall E sucked from several different people. *shrugs*
Anyways, great post, looking forward to MOAR!
Hahaha!! I support the visual torture of your Grandia II to Kryptinite.
Good stuff, 13thDragon. Keep it up.
Oops I meant SilverDragon1979!! There's too many Dragons here for this old man to keep track of.
May I suggest a Dragon Death Match??
Haha, old people forget stuff. Wait...what?
Lol, I have seniority.
Whoah ... wait a second ... a Dragon Death Match ... I kind of like this idea.
What do you say 13thDragon? Would you be up for it? A fight to the death to decide once and for all who is the ultimate dragon.
@SilverDragon: Well, I wouldn't say I am good at psychoanalyzing things...or people for that matter, but I can at least come up with an extended metaphor.
Here is what you wrote:
To this day she still has my Dreamcast … and I have still left this game wrapped in the hope I will one day get the chance to play it … I’m still waiting for that day …
I think the game represents your relationship with the Dreamcast thief. As long as you keep the game in plastic, you don't have to confront the reality of the fact that the game is completely worthless without the Dreamcast. As it is, you're keeping the game in plastic, hoping and waiting that you'll get to play it again--hoping the Dreamcast will make it's way back to you.
I think once you buy a new Dreamcast and crack open the game, your relationship with that new Dreamcast will be much stronger. This could be likened to your relationship with your current girlfriend. So, in conclusion, you need to get a new Dreamcast, play some Grandia and finally propose to your girlfriend.
Metaphor/Psychoanalysis complete.
@Thisyearspink: Interesting Psychoanalysis. That is a whole lot of insight you got from one single sentence. I am a little speechless honestly. Only a girl could deduce so much from so little.
Of course you realize I have to hide this entire post now. If my girlfriend sees that you think I should propose to her she will use this as ammunition to bug me into doing it. Thanks ... a ... lot !!!
@SIlverDragon: You'll thank me one day :)
