When it comes to video games I am obsessive-compulsive about beating them. If I start a game I must finish it. No matter how bad, or how hard it is I will not rest until the ending credits have rolled across the screen. Like Bruce Hornsby says ... that's just the way it is!

Today I decided to sit down and figure out exactly how much money I'm going to be spending on all the games I was planning on buying this Fall. In order to exercise some level of "control", I decided to only include games that I was 100% sure I wanted to play. What I quickly discovered was that my list was much much much larger then I thought.

Below is the complete list of titles I came up with, along with release dates and prices. As you can see, if you add all those dollar amounts up you get $780. Add in the 7% North Carolina sales tax and it brings the total up to $835. I don't know about you, but that is a whole hell of a lot of money.

I'm honestly starting to think that I need to reconsider whether I really want some of these games. Not only is $835 a lot of money to spend, but there are just too many games on this list to physically attempt to play in the alloted time. Just check out October 20th. There are three games coming out on that same day I want to play, and all of them are probably 40+ hour games. What the hell was I thinking when I made this list?

On another note, weren't a lot of games supposed to be pushed back to 2010. Looking at this list, you wouldn't think any games had been pushed back at all. Damn video game developers and all their stupid creative genius. I wish they would just take a break for a while.

So how much money do the rest of you plan on spending this Fall on games? Anywhere near the insane amount I plan on spending?

Sept. 22
-Halo 3: ODST- $60

Sept. 29
-Dead Space: Extraction- $50

Oct. 13
-Brutal Legend- $60
-Uncharted 2: Among Thieves- $60

Oct. 20
-Borderlands - $50
-DJ Hero- $120
-Forza 3 - $60

Oct. 27
-Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time- $60

Nov. 3
-Dragon Age: Origins- $50

Nov. 10
-Modern Warfare 2 - $50

Nov. 17
-Assassin’s Creed II- $60
-Left 4 Dead 2 - $50

Q4 2009
-New Super Mario Bros. Wii- $50

Only game you need on that list is Brutal Legend.
I quit. That's too much, fuck.
-Borderlands - $50

Which means you're gonna get it for PC. You bastard.
I'm gonna buy Ratchet and Clank and Assassin's Creed 2 . That's it.
@Takeshi: Sorry man, but from what GearBox is saying, the PC version will be the supreme version of the game. I might however be tempted into picking up the PS3 version as well. That is if there's a gaurantee I'll have people to play it with.
Out of your list, I only plan on getting Brutal Legend, Assassin's Creed II, and New Super Mario Bros. I really want to go to PAX east, so I'm going to have to pull back a bit when it comes to spending money no games.
It's going to be Persona for the PSP, Demon's Souls, Brutal Legend, Uncharted 2, and maybe Borderlands for me all the way this fall.
Just Uncharted 2 and the new R+C game for me. Possibly borderlands, but that's unlikely.

I won't ever buy MW2 , simply because I already poured 100 hours into COD4 and have NO desire to do it again. My time is too important to waste on it.

Then I'll wait till march and get GoW3. My awesome PS2 RPG's are taking up my time at the moment, and will do so for the rest of the year.
You really have enough time to play all those? I don't know if I'm more envious of how much time you have or how much money you spend on videogames.
I plan on only spending $75 on GameFly because I don't really foresee Dead Space: Extraction, Brutal Legend and Assassin’s Creed II having much replay value. Admittedly I do already have a pre-order in place for Borderlands.
Wowza.

Just buy 2 or three and by the time you're finished those, the other may have gone down in price.

Brutal Legend
Scribblenauts and
Assassin's Creed II for me
I made a list like this and then really thought about it, because like you it was too fucking big. Too many games, too little money. I've managed to happily cut it down to about five games.

I mean, do you really want Dead Space: Extraction?
@SD
I hear you man. If I had a PC that could run games like that I would... still buy it on PS3! But I don't blame you.

For me it's Brutal Legend, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and Borderlands day one. Then I have to check my money but I will probably pick up Demon's Souls and Assassins Creed as well.
Man..what the fuck!
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you SILVERDRAGON . . . T_T Although, are you including Christmas? If so, I'm going to be over $1,000 I'm thinking, as I have to pick up EVERYTHING that Atlus and NIS are releasing!
... but if you get Borderlands for the PC, then you won't get the pleasure of teamkilling Takeshi or me! (cause I'm sure there's gotta be some way to TK your friends in that game! LOL!)

Yeah... I don't even want to think about the cost... particularly as we often buy two copies of any game where my husband and I both intend to play online together - which means two PS3 copies of Borderlands among others.

My list isn't as long as yours... but does include Borderlands, Dragon Age, Ratchet and Clank, MW2 (2 copies)... and very likely Uncharted 2, Singstar Motown - and then in early 2010 there are also a bunch of games including 2 copies of MAG, and 2 copies of Battlefield.
-DJ Hero- $120

Yeah, no new music games for me. I have too many plastic instruments in my apartment as is.
Let's See:
-Uncharted 2
-Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time
-WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 (PS3)
-maybe Assassin's Creed II (PS3)
-Gears of War 2 GOTY

Man, not much compared to you. I feel your pain. :-( or :-), idk...
Also, Silver, you got an Xfire or Steam account? Maybe AIM? Skype? Something? I'll be getting Borderlands for the PC too, so you and me can talk about how much our computers rock while playing.
@TewDee: Look me up on Steam man. My Steam ID is Shawne1979, but my nick name that comes up is SilverDragon. I'd definitely be down with playing some co-op with ya when Borderlands comes out. :-)
I can spend $0 on games this fall...I am sad...

The Beatles: RB was my last excursion...I am now broke.

FUCKING SCHOOOOOOOOOOOL
> CTRL+F
> "A Boy and His Blob"
> ERROR: Phrase not found

No.
You know, you don't have to buy any game released on the Wii. Not even WiiWare or VC.
Last year, this was my budget. This year, I have to pay for a new car. :(

Also, what version of MW2 is 50 bucks? PC version is 60...and that's exactly why I refuse to buy it.
Here goes:
Brutal Legend
Dragon Age (Possibly)
Magan Carta II
Borderlands
Fifa 2010
Modern Warfare 2
Left 4 Dead 2 (if other friends get it)
Demon's Souls (if I get a good deal on a PS3 slim)

So yeah, definetely breaking the bank a bit. And Spring 2010 isn't looking any better.
Yay Borderlands on the PC. How am I not Steam friends with you yet?
I hear that, man. It's going to be a rough fall! I may end up having to delay my purchases of a lot of things.
I dunno... on the one hand I do have a PC that can handle Borderlands.. but most of the people I "know" on here are on my PS3 list.
I’ll only buy two of those myself. If I end up playing the others, it will be as rentals, gifts, or next year at a low price.

Modern Warfare 2 and Dragon Age are pretty much must buys. If you like deathmatch shooting or RPG talking.

Copypaste is awesome, isn't it silver?
@Random: Yes it is. ;-)
Shit. That's a whole lot of dollah!

I really need to plan out my video game purchases. Figure out what's more important.

Halo 3 ODST, Uncharted 2 Left 4 Dead 2 (on PC), Borderlands (PC), Forza 3, and quite possibly Modern Warfare 2 are probably safe bets.
I hate the Fall crunch. Need more games in Spring & Summer months!!!!
How the fuck is Modern Warfare 2 on PC $60? Fuck that shit.
I've got pre-orders down on Demon's Souls, Borderlands, Dragon Age, and Brutal Legend... will probably end up renting AC2, Uncharted 2, and Alpha Protocol. We're also thinking of picking up a DSi for Scribblenauts. Yikes!
jesus... this is exactly the reason why I did not feel so bad when I was addicted to FF11. Paying 15$ a month for 3-4 year entertainment saved my wallet from being raped.

Now I need to wait till 14 is released to start saving money again T_T
Perhaps it's time to invest in Gamefly.
Elsa asked me once if I spent more money gaming when I played nothing but World of Warcraft all the time. The answer to that question is NO!!! Paying $15 a month for a single game is a hell of a lot cheaper then spending $60 a game, on 10+ games a year.
That is quite the hefty list man!

I am for sure buying:
Uncharted 2, Borderlands, CoD MW 2, Brutal Legends, Dead Space Extraction and Left 4 Dead 2.

Knowing me though there will be many more purchases in between.
Also Modern warfare 2. Forgot that one.
DEMON'S SOULS

I'm good after that.
@Takeshi: I'm surprised you aren't giving me a hard time about getting MW2 on PC and not PS3.

@Yojimbo: You old men are so easy to please.

@Everyone Else: It appears we are all going to be broke together this Christmas.
2 games for me pretty much, maybe 3.

Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted 2
and maybe Assassins Creed 2.
2009-09-08 - Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii)
2009-09-15 - Wet (PS3)
2009-09-15 - Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (X360)
2009-09-15 - Red Faction: Guerrilla (PC)
2009-09-29 - Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (PS3)
2009-10-06 - Demon's Souls (PS3)
2009-10-13 - Brütal Legend (PS3)
2009-11-03 - Dragon Age: Origins (Digital Collector's Edition) (PC)
2009-11-10 - God of War Collection (PS3)

2009-11-17 - Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (Wii)
2009-12-31 - Lost Planet 2 (X360)

Of that list, the only one's I'll be buying day one are Dragon Age and Assassin's Creed 2. The rest I'll pick up next year... along with:

2010-01-31 - Darksiders (PS3)
2010-03-30 - Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (PS3)
2010-03-31 - Sin and Punishment 2 (Wii)
2010-03-31 - Dead Rising 2 (X360)
2010-03-31 - Sin and Punishment 2 (Wii)
2010-03-31 - StarCraft II Terrans: Wings of Liberty (PC)
2010-06-30 - Red Dead Redemption (PS3)
2010-10-31 - Bayonetta (PS3)
2010-12-31 - Beyond Good & Evil 2 (PS3)

Fuck my wallet.
Buy Demon's Souls.

Then lock yourself in your room until 2010.
@Magnalon: Fuck you and your advanced review copies.

Seriously, I wish I had that game. I'll just have to wait until it's released.
@Ckarasu
GAME OF THE YEAR!

(I'm still waiting for Brutal Legend)
Uncharted 2, God Of War collection and MW2 for me But Im gonna rent alot of these games like Assassins Creed 2, Boarderlands and Ratchet. Plus I got xmas and I usually get a game there so maybe L4D2, or maybe one of the three Im planning on renting. Anyways just 3 games Im for sure gonna buy.
Cut out DJ Zero and you just increased your wallet's size by 18.18% over the coming months.
The way I see it, there are only two games that need to be bought new on that list:

Borderlands
Brutal Legends

Everything else I'd wait for a price drop or wait for it used.
@SD
No dude, you must get whatever you want. I just hope you will have as many friends playing with you on the PC as I will have on my PS3.
