1up interviews Koji Igarashi and Michiru Yamane

Pretty good interview, both Igarashi-san and Yamane-san have done wonderful things for the Castlevania series, of which I am a huge fan. Igarashi cut his teeth on the resplendent Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PS1 and Saturn, which set a new bar for platforming games and the Castlevania series. A bar that hasn't been surpassed yet in my opinion. It's great to know that us gamers here in the states will finally get a taste of Rondo of Blood... well those that haven't imported it. :) I believe Castlevania: Vampyre's Kiss was a muddled retelling of Rondo of Blood, but I could be mistaken.

It's a shame I don't own a PSP or DS. I hope they'll make a new Castlevania game for a next gen system. Playing Castlevania on my 360 would kick so much ass.. even if it was a platformer. :D

it was lame that they did the ps1 version for the xblarcade.

Why was it lame? More people getting to play an awesome game sounds awesome to me.

The Saturn version was pretty sweet, two extra levels and you get to play as Maria. It was pretty buggy though.

Heh, the only lame thing about the XBLA version was they fixed the wall glitch... :(

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

 about me

Cold unfeeling mesh of man and machine.

Is old school, (I was playing an atari 2600 and an Odyssey 2 when I was in pre-school, Ring Quest and UFO were the fucking bomb), but enjoys a wide variety of games. Game tastes vary wildly from System Shock to Fatal Frame to Um Jammer Lammy to Disgaea to Okami to Virtua Fighter... etc etc... Shenmue.. etc. etc...

Not really too big of a fanboy, I'm an equal opportunity ripper. If a company does something that I think sucks, I'll let you know about it. Currently though, it's all about my 360. I'm not interested in the PS3, despite having and loving my PS2 for the past 5 years. I just like quality gaming experiences, any system that can deliver that to me multiple times is a good system in my opinion.
