Gears of War 2 is fucking garbage. Yes,
fucking garbage. How this bug filled excuse for a game received the scores it did, is a damn mystery. Playing or rather,
trying to play this highly anticipated sequel (online in particular) is an exercise in futility. While looking for any kind of acknowledgment from Epic on the web, I came across another player who compiled a nifty list of some of the issues experienced. Shotgun Boomshot Host Glitch 2.
Grenade Tags and Melees Through Wall Glitch/Game Bug 3.
Shield Glitches 4. People Lagging Out/Dropping or just down right Quitting from Matches 5.Spawning without a Weapon Game Bug 6.
Broken Chainsaw 7.
Weapon Slide Glitch Is this why Gears 2 is slipping in the XBL charts? Regardless, anyone giving this piece of shit 9s, 10s, hell even 8s is doing Epic and it’s fans a disservice. Sho Nuff! Sho Nuff!

The way I see it, meleeing through a wall is no where near as bad as falling through a level or your character becoming invisible.
2. number 4 happens with every game on Xbox live. Not just Gears 2. It has nothing to do with the game it has to do with the players and their connections.
If you hate the game so much then take the game back to the store, get your money back and go buy some alcohol or something, maybe then your friends and family will find you more enjoyable to be around.

He made a valid point, and is entitled to his opinions, and even more so when he backs them up with videos, or w/e. I honestly think GoW has been broken in multiplayer since the first installment. Its just a contest to see who can slide faster with a shotgun to your head.

Just the fact that he still feels the need to defend himself by insulting people instead of debating shows that he deserves no respect nor does he deserve your defense of him and his shitty emo blog.
Let's get to the obvious one first. The dumbing down of the shotgun. The damn thing won't shot straight anymore. You have to be so precise with it. It also loves to shoot the ground, but that's not the only thing that hurts the shotgun. The way the character controls now hurts your ability to use the shotgun accurately at will. For example. Using the shotgun in Gears1. You can easily fake out opponents, by moving side to side with precise control. Creating some awesome shotgun battles. You can also walk around enemies and shotgun them in the back before they know what's coming. You can even stand still. Have an enemy roadie running towards you to shotgun you and at the last second, shimmy to the side and shotgun them. Now that's badass! Well that's all basically gone in Gears2.
The next obvious one is the ridiculous stopping power of the Lancer and Hammerburst. Don't bother trying to run up to someone and shotgun them in Gears2, if they're facing you. You'll get taken down faster than you can say, Lancer. Take that shotgunners! All because Cliffy thought the Shotgun was cheating, so he handicapped it, but now you can cheat with the Lancer. Gee, way to balance thinks out Cliffy. So then what's Cliffy's solution to balance things out?, Well by making the shotgun more powerful from a distant of course, but what's fun about shotgunning from a mile away?
The rest of the obvious ones are, massive amounts of glitching, smoke grenades knocking you down every second, ink grenades killing you, even though you're 10ft away, sticking bombs on a wall...Okay it's Warzone. You and one guy left. Who's gonna win? I dunno. This is exciting folks! Ok Let's find this guy. Ok I'm roadie running. Hmm, where could he be? Maybe he's...BOOM!!! You're dead! Game Over! WTF? That's not fun. Where's the suspense? I mean if you can kill someone by just planting a bomb somewhere and your enemy runs by it about 10ft and blows up. I might as well stick a bomb facing me as I crotch in cover at a corner and wait for you to stop by and blow up. It's ridiculous!
It's easy to say, oh people who are sucking at a game, get upset and create a thread just for complaining, but then you got people like me, who are complaining, because I was real good at the prequel and now in the sequel. They changed the play mechanic's and I'm no longer a really good player, not that I'm not holding my own in Gears2. The bottom line is, I'm just not having as much fun playing Gears2 as I did playing Gears1. Gears1 had become second nature to me. Gears2 feels like work. So I'm playing Gears1 again, not that I won't play Gears2 again. It'll just never be as good as Gears1 and the fact that it fell to #3 as the most played Multiplayer game on XBL. Shows I'm not alone and should send a message to Cliff Bleszinski, that change isn't always a good thing.
I have a simple solution. Give the player the option to use Gears1 style controls or Gears2 style controls. It's up to the player or host, what style of control is set. That's fair.
THEY CONTROL EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME.
