part 2 today was rather confusing to bring. But I felt i'd be an idiot to not pull this out first or naow. So if you're still watching Nick for whatever reason and haven't even glanced at Avatar, then you sir, need to be banned from watching anything related to cartoons, martial arts, and a decent storyline.
Avatar started back in February 21, 2005 where I wasn't watching it. I really didn't take a liking to the show. (and i'm not sure why.) It wasn't until coming home from college christmas of 05 that they had the Avatar marathon going on. Curious (and loving the opening just for Aang crashing into the stone statue.) I watched. I'm glad I did as it's easily the best show still airing on Nick right now. The Overall plot of the story is basically told during the opening (the pilot episode has an extended version of the opening. Nothing seriously added from the later openings.) But seeing this isn't an opening i'll actually get the youtube vid of it. (it was the only american, not dubbed, non crappy one I found. but good enough.) As for the main story, Aang, the only surviving Airbender, is the Avatar. The person who's supposed to stop the war going on when they're reborn. Problem here is that Aang is about oh I don't know...100 years late. So when the other 2 main characters, Katara and Sokka, find Aang, they're pretty lost on who he is, what he was doing, and if he really was the avatar. At this point, Aang is supposed to be a complete bending god (or persay.) but because of his "issue" that happens, he doesn't know a damn thing beginning of the series. Seeing there's little time to even stop the war before the Fire Nation takes over all, he has to hurry up and learn Earthbending, waterbending, and firebending. Hence starts the journey to find the best bending masters for Aang to train under. Now for you souls not understanding what Bending is, it's basically martial arts with elements added into it. So say i'm born from the Earth Kingdom. I would have Earthbending. Trick here is that not everyone can bend. I'm not sure how it's determined (and I think it's just pure luck.) but not everyone can bend. For example, Katara can Waterbend whereas Sokka, her brother, can barely cut through water with his clown antics. It also focuses on alot of actual real martial arts. So it's not like Mortal Kombat where shit is just mixed with some random goofy shit. The only thing really added is the elemental feature, but each Kingdom/bending skill represents a martial art: - Tai Chi for waterbending - Hung Gar for earthbending - Northern Shaolin for firebending - Ba Gua for airbending Apparently out Earthbending Master Toph (who comes later in the story.) uses a Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis style. I'm sure it's to add to her already uniqueness as she's a blind earthbender. (and lets thank Wikipedia for my lack of deep martial arts background.) This series is in its 3rd and most likely final season. The series as a whole starts off rather slow. But near the end of the 1st season and into the 2nd, it begins to pick up as the main baddie, Zuko tries to find his way and his destiny, his sister takes over as the evil baddie, and Aang Kotara, and Sokka continue traveling to get info on the Fire Lord, history on Bending, and people suitable to teach Aang what he needs to know to be ready. Of course expect side episodes so that the plot doesn't move so quick (and most of them include something main into the story be it next episode or episodes ahead.) but even if you forget, they recap on the last episode or a past episode that may be a big connection to the episode about to air. All in all, you can't watch anything else on Nick unless you're watching this. It's a must as it's really the only thing left going for it. With it about to end soon, Nick better find something else. Also the seaons go by books. The 1st Season being the Water book, 2nd Earth Book, 3rd being Fire book (which is where they are not.) I would expect a Air Book but I doubt it'll happen. I would expect Aang to tell stories or something about airbenders but it's slim to no. I could go on and on about this series but I'd rather people just watch it than here me blab on about it. Season 1 and Season 2 boxsets are out and they've already started relasing volumes for season 3. Jump on this series if you haven't already cause it's pretty damn popular. To the point an Avatar movie was announced about a year or 2 ago. (I think both Live action and cartoon. Can't remember.) Past Write ups: Part 1

Which, to tell you the truth really isn't saying much. Airbender to other Nick shows is like comparing the multitude of Stephen Segal flicks to Die Hard.
There is not going to be a fourth season, this is the last. And there are going to be Three live action movies, which makes it fairly easy to assume that they will in most respects mirror each season.
There was one animated "movie" which was a two show special called Day of Black Sun, and it included the episodes The Invasion and The Eclipse.
