As this is still going on in Japan, expect updates from both
this dustloop thread and i'll try my best to keep this blog updated as it comes. First off, new carl portrait. (with a small look at Tager and Litchi and probably Taokaka on the side)
now...the goodies. So far, They seemed to be fooling with the main top 3 (Kune/Nu...who is now Nu 11 and not 13/Rachel.) The reason for Nu - 11 is probably due to the storyline. But it's also kinda not making sense apparently but you know how companies love to make new things make less sense in a fighter. There's a few Noel and Carl bits too (and a small portion of Jin.) still nothing on the others yet. Enjoy.

- New Move Berial Edge is not an overhead, can not combo from ground, slow
- Dead Spike seems like still suck pretty bad

System
- Burst becomes GG style, stock up to 2 bursts
- Burst no longer have damage penalty
- You start with 1 burst in round 1, and get 1 more burst per round, can stock two. So if you don't use your burst round one, you end up with 2 in round 2, but you can not stack anymore after that.
- You get one extra burst next round if you lose the round
- When regular gold burst hits opponent, opponent will bounce high and able to combo from there
- Guard Libra retains from round to round
- All AH unlocked
- You can use AH when you need one more round to win (not the final round of the match) with 100% meter and opponent's life is below certain percentage, character shines in white when it is possible to activate AH
- Heat Gauge goes up automatically from the beginning of the round (Yes, Everybody is like Haku-men now)
- Guard Libra length changes for every characters, meter goes down if the character blocks the specific move that breaks the guard (e.g. blocking Λ-11-'s 214D will let meter go down by 2)

It seems like they're nerfing a lot of character. Which isn't bad, since the game was tremendously balanced from the start, as long as they apply the nerfstick equally too. It'll just make the game play a little more offensively minded to make up for it.

Jesus, I didn't think Carl could get more shota but he did. I'm eager to see how they went about fixing Tager, it would be hilarious if he suddenly has a huge advantage over Arakune and Nu.
They neutered Rachel's frog??? I can't wait for video to start floating around, I want to see Nu's "replacement".
i'm actually rather lost on Arakune's shit. It's sounding like overall he got buffed greatly than nerfed.
She probably looks the same, since all the Nu's are supposed to be clones.

@Shin Oni: Well, if he can't guard break with his bees anymore that softens up his pressure game somewhat. With his dives no longer hitting overhead as well, he has overall less options in rushdown, which is his strong suit. From what I can read, it's harder for him to build an effective rush, but easier for him to deal direct damage?
That would probably make sense. I guess more of a fair race on beating Arakune before he gets momentum.

On a side note, one of my friends can play a very mean Tager against Nu/Lambda/V-13/11/whatever. I think it's his 236C or B move that can move through projectiles. Very nasty.
I'm intrigued by these changes. I think I'm going to like Rachel even more now! I'm glad about the changed burst system as well, the initial one sucked! I'm psyched, thanks for the updates shin!
It sounds like they're trying to make the game allow for more comebacks and newbie friendliness and player turnaround with a "easy" mode, constant heat gauge, and the burst changes. Wonder how it will come to consoles though. And if I'll finally be able to get it by then or if SSFIV happens and I won't even notice
the constant heat gauge is gonna make Jin be more deadly with his D moves. So if anything, Jin's more of a threat than he was before.

Well, least I don't have to learn that Rachel specific combo now that it doesn't work.
I don't like the Burst thing, but a lot of times it happens on accident more than tactically(and not just with me), so I guess it's ok.
At least now I'll maybe be able to maybe get into V-11's face. If I can land a hit on her, I can get her. It's her gravity well bullshit that makes it hard.
Nu pretty much turned into a double edge sword character. which I seriously don't mind. Especially if Litchi's range outbeats her now short sword range.
on top of that, I guess the fact there's little to no Litchi updates is a good thing.

I'm sad that Jin is nerfed hard :( maybe I should start using Arakune that fever mode seems kinda scary. I think Rachel players got it tough though :( Just reading that might as well take away everything. Ugh I feel that there will be more Hakumen players :( Astral for days.

Yay! I can burst whenever I need it, not waiting till the LAST min to do it.
I feel bad for Rachel too in a way. as I had started learning her. depending on how she feels this time around, I may drop her for Tsubaki or Terumi who is claimed to be the second character.
and Hakumen can sit there for free against people like Jin and Bang.
All of these super fancy complicated terms don't make sense to me really. I like that they improved the animation and have more voice acting I hope they keep all the original voice actors in english too.
I love this game, I wish I understood all of these abbreviations and stuff. Why the hell would they make the heat gauge just go up automatically? Wouldn't that promote turtling?

the more I look at it, i'm finding it more to be her boob than her paw...but it's so hard to really tell. I don't remember seeing any buttons on Tao's paws.
Aww, I'm a little disappointed by the changes to Nu. I mean, I can understand the change to the DD>4DD>236D by making the 236D not combo into it, but making DD>4DD not combo...ugh. I would have minded less if they made 4DD an even less safe move(considering the previous change). No comments on the range decrease until it's known how much.
I like some of the system changes though, as well as TERUMI!!! I hope he's a form switch character with both human and true form switches.
Yay , I am actually smiling because of the Jin downgrade. And since I don't really use the Clap loop , i am not too worry about Carl.
Tager buffs = jawsome.
Also, Tsubaki seems kinda cool since I used Order Sol in Accent Core, hopefully most of the stuff from Accent Core will transfer over pretty smoothly.
Overall, I'm glad this update brings the higher tier characters (Rachel, Nu, Arakune) down a notch and the lower tier characters (Tager, Hakumen, Bang) a little bit higher.
@Dan CiTi: It's been suggested that the Heat gauge rising may be unique to the test machines, since it makes testing out supers and Roman Cancels easier. Hopefully, that won't be in the actual game, since being able to turtle and earn super was what made Hakumen special.

I really hate the keypad notation system. QCF, QCB, HCF, HCB, DP, etc. is much more intuitive for me. I always have to look at a numerical pad to figure out what the hell 6D is.
