I feel your pain man.. although ive only had it happen once, it happened on a big game release (guitar hero 2) and ever since then im always nervous come time of a big 360 game coming out. Ive just got that fear that my 360 will start the game and then it will glow that evil red after an unexpected shutdown.
meh all I wanted to do was play a game and my night just went BLEH
that is one of the two reasons i didnt buy an 360 RRoD and paying for online

I'm glad I was poor during the start of the new console era, and was able to see the horror before I actually bought a 360, only be in the same boat as 90% of the other owners.

I lived through one and that's enough for me. Fortunately, I paid for the Best Buy warranty and didn't have to deal with MS' bullshit. Highly worth it in my opinion.
