Warhammer Online reminds you of its existence @ Amazon Today
ShawnKelfonne | 9:23 AM on 11.13.2008 4 comments

Sure, everyone is going crazy over Death Knights and Northrend today, what with the release of Wrath of the Lich King, but remember guys, World of Warcraft isn't the only game with silly hats and green people! Thankfully, Amazon never forgets, helpfully reminding people of the existence of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning by offering it at a price of $25.98 and free shipping. All things considered, I've actually heard it's a pretty decent game, so if you despise WoW yet crave the world of an MMO for some reason, Warhammer is here to welcome you with open arms.

Failing that, there's always the chance for LEGO Warhammer, right?

For when you really need your lego man to crack some plastic skulls

God damn, thats dirt cheap compared to my collectors edition... of which I'd almost give up for one of those Lego hammers, haha. I would have loved getting my nerdy hands on those babies when I was 15 and BIG into pitched battles with my Lego armies.

I played Warhammer Online when it was first released. It's pretty good, I would definitely play it again. Two of the removed classes are being added back into the game this month, those being the Knight of the Blazing Sun (Empire Tank) and Blackguard (Dark Elf Tank), so if you were ever on the fence about the game now's a great time to make up your mind.

Absolutely great game that succeeds in certain areas where WoW fails. Of course, WoW does certain things better than Warhammer as well, but for the type of player I am (I PVP in WoW mainly), I think that Warhammer is more for me. I am going to currently unsubscribe to Warhammer to play through WOTLK since I've already committed so much to my WoW toons. But after I hit 80 or so, I will be coming back to Warhammer full time. I'll always love WoW, but after a few years of any game, it just gets kinda old...

I keep getting bugged to play this game, but having quit WOW for a while now I can't see myself getting back into a new MMO. Its damn cheap and free shipping is even better, but with all the games I've bought recently another monthly charge on my credit card isn't something I want either.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

 about me

Well, let's see, I've got a ridiculously sized game collection, spanning from Coleco to Wii, with much of what's in between. The Super Nintendo was the height of awesome for me, and I still break it out once in a while to relive those memories.

I'm also a fairly big RPG nut, recently been playing WoW, may god have mercy on my soul.

I've got all three "current-gen" systems, and love them all for various reasons.
