David Reeves, president of SCEE, practically said so. In an interview with
Three Speech, he talked primarily about the PS3 "price cut". You know, the 600$-to-500$ drop of the 60GB edition (which will be replaced at 600$ with the 80GB model). Well. The UK is, as we all know, not getting mentioned price cut (even if some see it as a fake price cut anyways). If you asked yourself why, here is your answer - straight from the source:
"[...] if we reduced the price, we’d annoy a lot of people."
Think about it. Would you be annoyed if Sony dropped the price of their newest console adept by a hundred bucks? If you can answer that with "Yes", you must be living in the UK. Actually, I'm annoyed because they
didn't decide to drop the price.
Why make this stuff country-wise anyway? It's bullshit. If you drop the price in the US, then drop the price in Europe, too. Bad move Sony, bad move.
