About Me
Let's try defining hardcore before we try and define ourselves with mentioned attribute first.

To me, a hardcore gamer is a person who always wants the best out of his system, setup and environment. He will not stop paying for equipment, games, platforms, bonus content (sigh), or Limited Editions.

Now, I apply to some of the above, but certainly not all of them.

On a final call, let's say I'm 50% hardcore, and 50% casual.

Rock Band Bundle Priced 200$
Shah | 10:42 AM on 07.23.2007 17 comments

Amazon.com has listed a Rock Band Bundle for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 at 199.99$. This Rock Band "Collection", as its named apparently, includes the videogame (of course), the (wired) guitar, drums, and microphone peripheral.

That's damn pricey if you ask me. Wonder how well it will sell. The game sure is interesting, but at that price point not many casual gamers will buy it. Take that with a grain of salt, it's just my speculation.
Still, a quite high price point. You are 49$ close to getting an entire console, the Wii, in comparison.

The game itself as stand-alone retails at 59.99$, and of course you can purchase the peripherals - including a wireless guitar which is never bundled - separately, too.
Surprisingly, the Xbox 360 wireless guitar costs 20$ more than the PS3's same gadget. Wonder where that's coming from.

Game: 59.99$
Wireless Guitar PS3: 59.99$
Wireless Guitar 360: 79.99$
Drums: 79.99$
Microphone: 29.99$
Wired Guitar (calculated, this item is not available on its own): 30.03$

That rounds it up. You pay at least double for the wireless guitar contrary to the wired version. Not my cup of tea either way.

- Update -
It's gotten to my ears that the Xbox 360 Bundle includes the wireless guitar in any case, instead of the wired version. Cannot confirm this, just to let you know.

Im not a rich guy, but, man, that $200 price doesn't seem that bad. I might pick up just the game and the drums, but already with that price, I could just save up my lunch money for a week or two and get the bundle.

I think Red Octane have to pay Microsoft to use wireless controllers, so I assume that's why it costs more.

It's still bullshit though. I won't be buying this game anyway.

I don't care. If I don't win it, I'm still buying the Complete set. $29.99 for the mic by itself seems a little steep though.

sounds to pricey to me.
When i got guitar hero 2 for the 360 they originaly told me 70 bucks, then it got changed to 90, if i would have known it was 90 all along i probably would not havew got it.

Hmm...that really doesn't seem to bad a price for the set.

Will have to see what the british price is though before i decide whether or not i'll be getting just the guitar or the ful lcollection.

yeah, for what you're getting, it really isn't that expensive. Especially when you consider early estimates were around $300.

I have a feeling I'm gonna end up paying for the bundle. It might be a lot of cash to drop at once, but it just looks so good!

@ted: Stick to insulting your superior nemesis, Brian Crecente. This blog was taken over by a real man (me). Grown up stuff you know?

No time for your piss-poor attention grabbing whore attempts here. And we can't get your ban lifted from Kotaku either. You simply suck.

I don't think they had announced any official pricing besides the complete set. The separate peripheral pricing is new I'm pretty sure.

I wasn't arguing with that. Ted just sucks big time. On his search for fame, he'll do anything. Like bash a respected games journalist like Crecente. He's pathetic.

Shah, can you please read Dtoid? Thank you much.

I can go off and defend Ted, but the fact of the matter is that would be a waste of time. Read Ted's work before you attempt to rip on him. His work is informative, concise and tasteful. If his tone comes off as insulting, he's trying to tell you something. Stop taking things personally and cereally. This is Destructoid, the uncle that tells you dirty jokes.

@Shah, I was simply stating that this was announced a while ago. You have to realize that this is the innernet. By no means am I trying to reach fame by making posts and comments that make fun of people; I do it for personal entertainment. Making smart ass remarks in comments and blogs posts is fun for me, it is what keeps me going. I don't necessarily mean to damage anybody's self esteem but I just like to make snarky comments.

When Jim Sterling posted his first article I ripped him apart. I basically called the biggest fucking retard on the innernet. It just so happens that I am a fan of Jim Sterling, he is a cool dude and I am really glad to see him as part of destructoid.

At this point I have completely forgot what exact point I was trying to make. I guess it is just that you don't need to get so easily offended.
