In no particular order at all here is the list

My dad is a gamer.

He used to be a big fan of StarWars games, specifically Star Wars outcast and other Jedi Knight games but now since they don't really make those games anymore he plays lots of COD:WAW on veteran and Gears of War 2 horde mode. I usually find him playing horde with my 11 year old brother, who also plays a shitload of games.



I play water polo.

I've been playing since 6th grade and It's a really fun sport. It's how I get my exercise, some of you might not know what this is, its basically soccer fused with football played in the water. You have 2 goals and 1 ball and anything you do under the water is not a foul. So you get lots of bruises and stuff

I'm a nerd

Pretty much everyone here on Destructoid are nerds though. I really enjoy anime and anything Japan. I also read lots of manga and own the entire Deathnote manga and Naruto manga. I am only proud of owning all the Deathnote manga. Naruto is kind of stupid.


I would burn down a nursery for a ps3

I want a ps3 so bad. I just need to play Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4.

My brothers both play games and are fucking good

My 11 year old brother is in a clan for DOD:S (day of defeat source). And he is really good, not to mention how he usually pwns people at tf2 and l4d.

I'm the only one in my family that enjoys RPG's

This kind of is dissapointing, nobody in my family likes RPG's. They just seem to lack the intellegence needed to enjoy a fine story along with great gameplay.

I Love History

Particularly WW2 history. I often read books on D-Day and other famous battles and wars. Unfortunately my Social-Studies teacher this year is pretty retarded and just copies thing off other teachers.

Me and my friend are making a game.

He knows C++ and hes making it in Torgue game editor, I'm doing 3d modeling and Interface. It going to be multiplayer and 1st person. Basically its just an arena shooter like Unreal Tournament.

I am new to JRPG's

I am in the middle of both Chrono Trigger and Persona 4. I just started Mother 3. But JRPG's are awesome. They are becoming my favorite genre.

My mom got the Xbox 360 for us on its release date.

She is amazing, she stood in line at 4 in the morning to get it for us even though we didn't open it till Christmas. I really didnt believe she actually stood in line that long. People were telling her how cool she is for standing in line to get her sons an Xbox.

My xbox has been stolen 2 times

And it pisses me off so much. I live in this really urban area with lots of gangster people so I have to deal with other crap all the time. What pisses me off the most is that I had played the fuck out of Oblivion and all that data is gone now.

I love Pokemon
I have 200 hours+ played on that game and used to play it competitively. One of my friends has 1000+ hours on Ookemon diamond and has beat ever single Pokemon game including Platinum

The Gears of War movie is going to be pretty awesome. The cast I am about to unveil to you is my dream cast for the movie Here is the cast that would make it the most awesome movie ever.


Marcus Fenix: Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage has some solid movies behind him. From "Ghost Rider" to "National Treasure" he is a solid actor. He definably deserves the lead role in the Gears of War movie. He would be able to portray the seriousness of Marcus along with the brutal style of Gears of War.




Dom: Robin Williams

With some solid movies behind him (Jumanji, RV) he is already a solid pic for the choice of Dom. He can play out the complexity of Dom's character while also being able to portray the brutal style of Gears of War. He also would be great accompanied by Nicolas Cage




Baird: Leonardo Dicaprio

He should be in this movie because he was in Titanic and he looks like Baird.




Cole Train: Mr. T

Who else would have a chance at playing Cole. He is funny as well as serious at times and he is all about action. Mr. T would be perfect. He would easily be able to portray the role of Cole. Cole is actually like Mr. T's Persona.



So as you can see with this cast this movie will become the most awesome movie ever.

I have never liked Flight/Racing games. I cant seem to figure out what is so appealing about Forza 2. I played it and I though it was just like every other racing sim I have played. But when I downloaded the Ace Combat 6 demo onto my xbox I was met with an amazing experience that left me wanting for more. Right when I started it up I was amazed by the graphics, they were breathtaking. I died pretty quickly into the demo, I was doing a maneuver close to the ground and my plane crashed into the ground. This sort of thing is what makes me not like flying games I always die by crashing into the ground. But I didn't stop playing because I was having a surprisingly fun time.



The mission puts me in the cockpit of one of many fighter planes. During the first mission I had to fend off some unknown invaders. I kept on playing and kept on dieing from hitting the ground or another object. I did not quit though because every time I died I was getting better and better and killing more planes. It wasn't till around the 6th time I died though that I realized I had a special weapon that I could use besides my missiles. This ended up making the game extremely fun because I could now lock on to a cluster of planes and destroy them all. I could even watch in third person as my missiles closed up and annihilated them. The gameplay was pretty intense, I was maneuvering, trying to not get hit by missiles while at the same time trying to shoot down enemy planes. It was also fun doing maneuvers just for the fun of it, trying to get as close as I could to building without hitting them.

After about 15 minutes on my 8th try a cutscene came up. Basically at that time in the demo we had the enemy running away from us. Rather than telling you about how cool the cutscene was I will show it to you instead.


Skip to 6:20 for the cutscene, and also do yourself a favor and watch in high quality.

It was so cool when I saw all the planes blow up right in front of me I just couldn't wait to play more of this game. I didn't even know what other awesome things would be waiting for me in this game. So now I am a fan of the series and am currently trying to obtain Ace Combat 5 for the ps2, I am also waiting on Tom Clancy's HAWX that game looks amazing.

While Shadow of the Colossus was the reason I bought a ps2, RE4 was the reason I bought a gamecube. The first time I played it I was really enjoying the atmosphere and feeling of the game. I liked how it felt gloomy and lonely I enjoyed the way Leon walked by default. The sound effects captured the feel of the game from the crows to the eerie music. When I first entered combat I had some difficulty adapting to the new style of gameplay and I died fairly early by walking into multiple traps and then into a tripmine. There was a bit of a learning curve but while I was still very bad at the game in the beginning I was having loads of fun.



The gameplay is a little slow paced but heats up pretty quickly once the zombies start pouring in. Basically you press the trigger to aim and press "a" to fire. It may sounds a little weird but it works pretty good. If you hit an enemy in the balls or the legs they will crouch over and if you get close to the and you press "A" you will do a kick that will either knock down, or kill nearby enemy's and kill the person who was crouching over. Leon has a pretty bad ass kick.

The story is pretty simple in the beginning then gets more complicated as you go through. Basically you are Leon Kennedy, former member of the Raccoon City Police. After the incident at Raccoon City (anyone who played the previous game would know what the indecent was) Leon becomes a special agent under the presidents orders. When the President's daughter is captured you are sent into Spain to retrieve her. You soon find that the villagers are very aggressive and hostile Leon ends up finding the President's daughter pretty early in the game, but getting her out of the place you are stuck in will turn out to be alot more difficult than actually getting her.

As you progress through the game Leon will be able to buy new weapons, upgrade old ones and sell unwanted ones. You can also find herbs to increase and restore your health. As well as herbs there are other items you can find that can restore your health such as fish. While these additions add to the survival horror essence of the game it doesn't come off as enough to make this game a true survival horror game. It ends up coming off more as an action game with survival horror elements. There is no real puzzles, or super scary moments. There are a few scary moments but they don't make this game scary enough.

As much as this game is not a Survival Horror game it is an excellent action game. The fights are tense and you need good maneuvering as well as headshot skillz. The game really gets good once you get the shotgun because that's when things start getting really fun, because shooting off exploding zombie heads are always fun. Later in the game when your weapons are upgraded really high, this game become ZOMBIE HOMICIDE BLOOD N GORE DELUX and that's a good thing.

Overall this is a great game, best game for the gamecube hands down. If you do not have this game get it now. It is also for the Wii, and the Ps2.
