Seanus is a sad gamer. :(

Okay, I'll set the scene...
Finished my last uni exam on Tuesday, and had the rest of this week, and next week of holidays, before I have to go back to uni for a two week 'holiday' unit. And due to losing my job earlier in the month, I don't have to worry about working either.
Finally got to level 65 in Call of Duty: World at War, and just got the new map pack priming myself for some nazi zombie killing.
New Fallout 3 DLC is ready to be downloaded after thoroughly enjoying the first three.
Belatedly getting into Oblivion, and about halfway through the last Thieves Guild mission.

Cue...

Yep, got the beloved ring of fire synonymous with our favourite Microsoft console. This, in fact, is my second red ring of death for my 360 in the two years I've had it. I really should have known this was going to happen considering the circumstances. It started freezing during Oblivion, then it would freeze during the boot-up sequence, then it just laid down and gave me the red lights.

Today I've being pretty lost. Despite owning all consoles and handhelds I've generally only played the 360. The others have become neglected. Anyway, since I can't play the 360 looks like the PS3 and Wii will be getting some playtime. Might finish Uncharted and Resistance, as well as Prime 3 and Galaxy.

So Destructoid, what are some older, and therefore cheaper games that I've probably missed on the other two consoles that've being released over the last year? I need my fix. :P

Dragonforce DLC for Guitar Hero 3 - Completionists groan.
Seanus | 2:31 AM on 07.24.2008 14 comments

Yes, that's right. One of the hardest Guitar Hero songs will be joined by three others by the same band.

Available on the 21st of August will be:

Operation Ground And Pound.
Revolution Deathsquad.
Heroes Of Our Time.

Operation Ground and Pound are both from their Inhuman Rampage album, which is also where Through the Fire and Flames is from, while Heroes Of Our Time is from their newest album "Ultra Beatdown".

Yep, looks like at least another couple songs I'll chuck on the *never will be able to beat* pile. Just watch the video around the 3 minute mark. 0.o

Resident Evil 5 for Wii! ... Wait, what?
Seanus | 3:40 AM on 07.23.2008 9 comments

Over at Kotaku, the guys have recently posted a series of instances that have confirmed, then denied, then confused everyone about the existence of Resident Evil 5 on the Wii.

As in the post, it could be a simple confusion between Dead Rising and Resident Evil, but it certainly opens a can of worms on the matter.

Pikmin 3 confirmed!
Seanus | 9:47 PM on 07.16.2008 11 comments

Nintendo just finished their Developer Roundtable Discussion and a slight flicker of life has emerged from the corpse that is Nintendo's E3 08 showing.

The roundtable discussion mainly concerned itself on the games that were shown at Nintendo's conference earlier during the week, but after a question from one of the attendees about 'core gamers', Miyamoto let slip that Pikmin 3 is indeed in the works.

Now all we need is some Kid Icarus, F-Zero, Metroid on the DS, and maybe a couple new IPs that don't suck as hard as Wii Music is currently. >.>

Through the Fire and Flames FC'd. God's head explodes from awesomeness
Seanus | 1:18 AM on 06.04.2008 22 comments

Quite possibly the hardest Guitar Hero song has officially being "FCd."

The special honors go to Iamchris4life, for reaching this milestone.
Official thread at Score Hero

Crazy!

Interesting things to note: "One" is the only song on Guitar Hero 3 yet to be FC'd on Expert.
Through the Fire and Flames is also yet to be FC'd on Hard. :\

Edit: The video is now available for you to see here

Not my Turning Point gaming rig
Seanus | 6:46 PM on 03.07.2008 4 comments

They say the black version of anything is usually better. And in the case of the Turning Point rig, and my grey/white one, it holds true. But we're here to talk about my average rig.

Seanus' Gaming Rig's Interests

- Having the close company of other inanimate objects, including speakers, external harddrives and empty plastic bags.
- Best friend is a giant Mr. Potato Head Darth Vader.
- Second best friend is a Christmas Edition Sully from Monsters, Inc.
- Quite messy an unorganized with lolly wrappers, plastic bags, and useless pieces of paper strewn around itself.
- Has a pet iDog.
- Is a big fan of Stargate SG-1
- Likes particularly loud music, hence why it spends most of its time right next to the speaker to avoid loss of sound quality as it travels through the air
- KFC junkie
- Likes having objects inserted into it, including SD cards, USB cables, and disks of all kinds.
