Excuse me looking like shit. I'm very tired. :(
This is the tale of a video game. A great video game that gave me many happy memories with my Game Boy.
A video game that sadly has been missing for about 12 years.
You see, my friend's mom has a rather nasty habit of going into his room when he's out and cleaning, which seems to mean throwing things she arbitrarily decides is trash. This happened to, amongst other things, my Mega Man V cartridge. Unfortunately this game is somewhat rare and fairly pricey to acquire these days. Something got me thinking about this recently.
Thankfully, my stupor was interrupted by a knock at the door.
I take a few seconds to compose myself, and greet the visitor.
Why, it's my good friend
Black Yoshi! Stopping in to visit I suppose between one of his trips. Apparently he ran into my mailman, and after eating him noticed there was a package for me so he figured he'd bring it up. Always happy to get mail, I invite him in and offer him a drink.
Apparently the package is from
Funktastic, who I've been doing some
trading with. I actually completely forgot about this package, and wonder what he sent me...
OMFGWTFBBQ!! PAPER!!! I LOVE PAPER!!! :D :D :D
Wait... there's MORE under the paper!
Quite a bit more!
Wait... what's this?
...
I'm completely at a loss for words.
Black Yoshi isn't really the cuddling type (or at he pretends he isn't), so while he went out onto my balcony...
... I dug out my GBA and proceeded to catch up on all those years without this game.
...
After a while I figured I should take a look at what else I got. In addition to Mega Man V, I traded with the legendary
Funktastic for a copy of Super Metroid and GTA: Chinatown Wars. Being the awesome person he is though, there's a few freebies included.
First up is a foam Prinny vitamin pill.
Next is a Street Fighter IV headband.
And finally is a Little Big Planet... ball? Erm... what is this thing?
Oh, it's a tshirt! Damn, they really packed it in there!
So yeah, massive <3 to
Funktastic for the trades, and to
Black Yoshi for helping bring them to me. :D
So, what did you give up in order to secure this awesome score?
I know I'll regret giving those away, but the Super Scope doesn't work on new tvs and I'm certainly not going to get a CRT again. So it's some games that may be awesome but I can never play again, for one I've wanted to get back for years and a few other good ones. :)
In fact, start making photocomics!
If ever another Super Scope should come through the store (we're keeping the one we have for display/awesome purposes), and I have any pocket change, I'll see what I can do about grabbing it for you.
Scotty come back to New York!
...But truly rad.
Funktastic in particular is amazing, he will flat out refuse to trade if he feels you're getting the short of the end stick and will go above and beyond anything I've ever seen to make you happy., he's awesome.
I hope he enjoys my copy of Guardian Heroes and the freebies I sent.
Sadly my eyes are from a lack of sleep. :(
Also, paper FTW.
Kauza: Looney Tunes, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, or Martian Revenge? That's what my half-assed searching turned up, but I'm sure there are a billion Looney Tunes games out there.
Haha I'm glad you were able to use the trade system to bring you joy. These pictures are pretty epic.
I have a very small collection of games (though it's recently grown), but I got the games I have because I want to keep them...
Maybe I can get one or two of the games I'm looking for with the (very small) handful of games I am willing to part with...
I'm also very happy to hear you loved the paper and little bonuses and such. ^_^
I want to experience Yoshi hugging happiness too.
Told you. Did you get my stuff yet? ;)
