Hello! Belated post is belated, but I just wanted to say hello and talk about PAX aside from buying Castle Crashers. I'll talk about the games I played in another post though, and keep this one strictly about the people I met/hung out with. I know some people are mentioned more than once, but it's kind of based around events I remember so bear with me.
...
Katie, Tony, and Connor: Not Dtoiders (not yet at least...), but if it wasn't for them I might not have come. Thanks guys for giving me a place to stay for the first few nights, and for being such good friends. So good to see you again, and you all NEED to move back to the east coast! At least until I get an opportunity to move out west... ;)
Funball (another non-Dtoider): For some very sleepy company very early Tuesday morning at the airport, even though I wound up having to miss that flight. Also for the caffeine pills, even though they didn't work. Best pointless trip to the airport ever!
Earthbounderness: You were the first Dtoider I awkwardly introduced myself to and hung out with, and I once again apologize for not recognizing your Travis Touchdown shirt. Clearly you did a good enough job that I mistook it for an actual shirt. I don't think I saw you after Saturday evening though, but the weekend wouldn't have been the same without you.
Wardrox, Nintendoll, Suff0Cat: Black Yoshi friends forever! Such a pleasure hanging out with you on Saturday and Sunday at PAX, the bar and Gameworks, and thank you Nintendoll for getting me to try out Wario Land: Shake it! I definitely could sit there and shake an enemy for hours. And Wardrox, it was awesome to talk to someone who has similar personal projects about our experiences. Best of luck!
Pic borrowed from Black Yoshi's blog ^_^
Aerox, Chooly: So happy to have some faces to put to names, even though I didn't really get a chance to talk to either of you. Look forward to... well, who am I kidding... look forward to
getting killed by you both in TF2 even more now.
The GHost: Dude, I have so much respect for you. It sucks that you're not around to play TF2 with us, but the fact that you're out there, doing stuff that most people (myself included) wouldn't do and still make the time to stay in touch and hang out with us Dtoiders speaks so much about what an amazing person you are. I mean, you had like two weeks home before you were going back to Africa and decided to spend most of it at PAX. How amazing is that?
Dyson: What else can I say except that you're one of the greatest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The Zelda, Metroid, and pretty much everything else talks were probably the highlight of my trip. I'm sorry that my epic thank you speech wasn't very epic due to drunkenness and the fact that I'm terrible with that kind of thing, but I meant every word I said. I will definitely stay in touch and yes, we will DESTROY that Ms. Pac Man machine next year.
My moderately decent but very inadequate hi-score of the weekend... :'(
Niero: Like everyone else said, if it wasn't for you we wouldn't all be together writing these overly sappy posts about how awesome it was is meet and get to know each other. Thank you for making Destructoid and not giving up on it.
Powerglove, Husky Hog: Huge thanks to Powerglove for being so accommodating, and to both him and Husky Hog for putting up with my sorry ass for a night. And to Husky Hog for the hilarious commentary during his school conference call.
Chad: Your positive personality is infectious. It's pretty much impossible to be anything but happy when you're around. Aside from Droobies' balls and the diagram on how to insert a tampon, you were probably the highlight of the Dtoid panel.
Samit: You were such a cool, grounded person, and it was a pleasure to meet you and get drunk with you. And I'm sorry to laugh about it, but the legendarily poor service you got at the bar was pretty funny. Made the service the rest of us got seem pretty good in comparison.
Wardrox, Pheonix Blood, Tazarthayoot, Asian Joe, The GHost: Thank you so much for still being around on Tuesday, and for putting up with me struggling to stay awake when I should have been sleeping on a plane. Just hanging out with you guys and talking without any other distractions sums up why I love going to things like this: meeting people and finding out that behind the internet persona they're usually just another person like myself who is passionate about games.
The Tuesday afternoon Dtoid airport crew
To everyone else I didn't mention, and to Destructoid: Thank you so much. I'm pretty much the lone video gamer amongst all my friends, and it's always a pleasure to meet, play games with, and be able to talk to other gamers on my level.
I was worried at first that I'd get shit from some people due to the whole TF2 drama that happened several months ago, or pretty much get snubbed because I wasn't one of the cool kids. I'm pleasantly happy to say that none of that occurred, and everyone was simply amazing. Thank you so much to everyone for turning a great weekend into something truely memorable.
<3
...
Also, a few pictures from the Monday dinner at the Cheesecake Factory where Vegemite was consumed by myself (and apparently also Dyson). I've heard some reaction photographs of those exist, and expect to see them soon! *looking at you Nintendoll*

The other side of the table
Suff0Cat being cheeky and trying to avoid getting his picture taken. Got you that time! :p
Awesome to meet you, it's a true shame you could out veggie-mite me :D
Nice ta meet ya ScottyG.
CONFIRMED: Elephant & Castle is racist against Indian people.
"Legendarily poor," indeed. It was great to meet you, ScottyG -- I hope to see you at the East Coast PAX in 2010!
Nice to meet you ScottyG! Hope to see you at PAX next year or at PAX East in 2010!
You were cool, however I am currently suffering from amnesia so I can't remember who you are. Can I touch your hair?
Aww Yoshi BFF forevas. <3
I still have an unopened container of Vegemite from when I lived in Australia nine years ago. I'm afraid to open it.
I wish we could have hung out more. Stupid, early Sunday morning flight. :(
VEGEMITE WAS FUCKING HORRIBLE
I'll make the same offer to you as I did for Husky, if you need a place to stay for next year's show, just contact me.
I was great to meet you.
VEGEMITE!
It was great to meet you ScottyG
So you're one of the people who snuck into my picture! Shame!
Although you seem like an okay person, so I'll let it slide... this time. Same goes to the other three.
Great to meet you dude, you better come to PAX next year too!
Oh god that Vegemite shit was awful.
Scotty, thanks for the incredibly moving compliment. You and everyone else were so nice to me it was unbelievable (;_; of joy). I'm having a hard time coming up with a memory that was better than the weekend we all spent at PAX, and I'm perfectly okay with that.
Next year, even more awesome, and we'll kill that Ms. Pac-man machine together.
And, everything you do is epic <3
@Chad
Yeah... what was up with people leaving on Sunday morning? :'(
@Black Yoshi
I already said I'm sorry. Come on now, we got off on the wrong foot but that doesn't mean we can't get along now. </3
And thanks everyone else. I definitely plan to go to PAX next year. Not quite sure what I'll do when there is two PAXes, as I'd love to go to both, but I'll figure out something.
<3 ScottyG.
