Two reasons:
1) Custom soundtrack
2) DLC (if you only knew)
Only on...
The PS3 sucks. Don't buy that piece of crap!
I'd say spend all of that money on a new PS3 and GTA IV. But then again, I'm an asshole.
What do I not know about DLC on the PS3?
So far the score is 1:1!
Well, to be honest...Warhawk looks pretty cool. Little Big Planet looks pretty cool...Uhh, I can't think of any other games at the moment, but I've seen a few.
My main problem right now is that I've just spent $300 on my PC and haven't even played any games on it hardly with my new 8800GT! Buying a PS3 now would almost be...stupid. :S
Maybe I should wait a few months, but I want some peoples' input.
This DLC is only on the 360
If you wait, wait for a price drop
Yea, that's the thing...Whenever I buy shit, it always drops afterwards. I bought my 8800GT and it dropped $10 the next day, haha.
The 40gb version (I really don't NEED an 80gb, honestly...) is pretty good at $400...I don't see when it'll drop to, like...$300. That may take a long time!
We'll see. Keep your reasons coming, fan boys. :P
Your job is to convince me why this shouldn't be in the forums.

Only buy a PS3 if you want to experience high quality.
metal gear.
that's about it. i'd wait, personally.
Yeah, what the fan boys/girls said.
If you need convincing then its obviously not the right choice.
Remember the 40gig is gimped in more ways that just hd space. No BC, half the USB ports. I recommend getting one, just not until a better SKU comes along, unless of course you can find a 60 or 80 gig one somewhere.
Get what your friends have... you'll want to play with them. That's really about it.
I'd just stick with the 360 version of the game. Only buy the PS3 if you really want exclusives that are currently out, don't buy it because Home and Litte Big Planet are going to come out at some time.

There are plenty of good games for the PS3 but look what is out besides GTA4 and if there are enough others you want then get it if not wait its that simple.
There are more than MGS4 and GOW3 as exclusive for PS3, lots more. Do what you want.
I will take this opportunity not to convince you and instead ask if anyone else has any info on the pricing of the additional 360 DLC. Are we talking $10 per episode? That would be a good deal, depending on the scope of each episode (which is said to be large).
@Buckf1tches: Your first mistake was assuming I HAVE friends. :) But seriously, I don't really game with any of my friends. They're all pretty much a bunch of retards that I don't associate with....Hey, maybe I DON'T have any friends. Oh well, whatever. :D
@Those saying this shouldn't be here: Thanks for your opinions. Hitler would be proud of you.
But srsly, I don't deal with people who are unnecessarily stupid, i.e. you. This was posted to see what PS3 fanboys could come up with to sell their favorite console to someone who is only slightly interested and might be looking to buy.
I'm not sure what the purpose of this blog, but I will throw in my two cents.
I had a 360 like you and bought a PS3. In the beginning it was not what PS3 had to offer, but the way I felt about Microsoft and their crappy Live service. Once I got the system though, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I upgraded my harddrive to a 250 gb and have ample room to store all of my movies, music and pictures. Most of the games that I played on 360 were also on PS3 (COD4 and Burnout primarily). The PSN network runs fine. I see a lot of flack from fellow DTOIDers about the service but it runs as well as Live. The only thing I wish they would hurry up with in game XMB which I miss from Live. The lineup this year is going to be great with MGS4, SOCOM, TEKKEN, LBP, Resistance 2 and others. I don't think XBOX is coming out with a good game that everyone is waiting on until GOW2 (if that comes out this year). GTA4 is going to be big on both systems. I don't know much about the DLC, but I heard it won't be coming out for a while. I am not even sure if I am going to be playing it that long with everything coming out on PS3.
^ That's what I wanted to hear. That's all. :)
#1 reason. Get the BC system b4 Sony fully takes it out. There is nothing better than having a system that plays PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, and if you can hack it, even Sega/Nintendo games.
Internet browser, Eyetoy is friggin fun, I can never stop laughing playing strip poker with Yojimbo n Sadistic while Sadi G showing us her penez. Keyboard/Mouse option if you into hardcore FPS, PSN just got a nice facelift. Great lineup of games coming up this year, MMO games will start coming out on PS3.
and for Gawds sakes, PS3 is the best porn machine... go to my blog n look @ its bo0bs.
If you can't find a reason on your own to get a PS3, then for the sake of all that is anti-whining-bitches-about-consoles please don't get one. Don't need another person who gets one based on some random person's suggestion and then hates the damn thing.
@SantanaClaus89
Only buy a PS3 if you want to experience high quality.
^ Couldn't have said it better myself.
There are tons of good games coming out this year, Little big planet, HOME, Haze, MGS4, Motor Storm 2, Socom, Dead Space, Siren, Killzone 2, Resistance 2... the list goes on and on.
Anyhow, the PS3 itself is an amazing console, I noticed in the first week of owning it how much time and quality they used on this machine. Also, RROD's suck... FedEx 360 >_>;
The ability to install an actual OS, upgrade harddrive with out buying an expensive console specific drive, bluray, Free online (dont believe what the fanboys say... PSN is great, and all the new features they keep adding makes it even better), wireless controllers that dont charge with rechargeable batteries (built in lithium batter ftw), built in Wifi right out of the box, Sony is releasing a movie service this summer (for all of you who say its going to be shit.. dont forget Sony owns its own movie company), Keyboard and mouse support on UT3 (And more games to come!), PC mod friendly, super quiet machine, I could go on and on man...
Basically I have never been a Sony fan, this console converted me. I still like the 360, dont get me wrong... but it cant even begin to compare.
Oh, how could I forget to add the fact that fullscreen youtube videos on your tv with the web browser is the own =)
RROD.
RRoD is the only real issue i see when i get a big luanching game like gta or god of war my console doesnt go up and die on me and then everyone will wil be trolling about on thier next new game when i havnt even finished my first one
also FUCKIN HAZE SWEET JESUS AWESOME
Haha, I wish RROD were enough, Sadie, but it just isn't!
When I first plugged by 360 in I got the RROD, but I just restarted it and it was fine. *Shrug* Hasn't happened again, so I think I'm cool.
I'm debating it now. Thanks guys. :)

i just figured a reliable system, with a blu-ray player, with free online play, with better graphics would be a selling point.
I don't know, the choice was not difficult for me.
You can't even argue that there are no games for the PS3 anymore because the system has pretty much caught up, granted there aren't a large amount of exclusives but the ones we get, are pretty killer.
Yes, the PS3's library is goin' up nicely.
