Terno's posts here is my version of the ultimate 9 man JRPG party.
It abides by these rules from Mecha's post:
1. Only "good" characters, in the sense that you're playing a protagonist party.
2. You're playing a video game, so you're not in the party.
3. Nine characters that rotate out. You might only have 3 out at a time, but this is the group that saves the world.
Playing the role of melee/magic user: Ness!

Earthbound is one of my faovrite JRPGs, so it only makes sense that I include Ness in my ultimate JRPG party! He has massive max stats thanks to a huge level up in Magicant and is skilled at both hand to bat combat and PK attacks. His quiet unassuming manner yet undying devotion towards goodness make him an excellent main hero for an RPG party and puts him in direct juxtaposition with,
Playing the role of thief/gadget specialist: James Bond!
"The names Bond, James Bond."
James Bond (specifically Sean Connery, James Bond,) is the best stealth oriented character ever. He's saved the world multiple times, is crafty and cunning and has tremendous skill in hand to hand and weapon based combat. I envision him sort of like a thief in Fire Embelm but also with the ability to use lots of specialized weapons like Jeff in Earthbound. I choose Sean Connery specifically because Roger Moore's a more comic James Bond and not nearly as awesome as Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan's cool, but relied to much on his gadgets and the new guy was great, but he's no emotionally detached enough. Same problem with the guy from On Her Majesties Secret service. Bond is smooth and suave unlike,
Playing the role of Spoony Bard is Murdoc Niccals!

Murdoc Niccals is the highly esteemed (and completly fictional) bassist for the Gorillaz, a popular alternate rock band. Murdoc's role in the team would be a supporter who played music to pump up/heal your party and to demoralize/inflict status conditions on the enemy, sort of like a bard from Fire Emblem mixed with a White Mage with status inflicting capabilities. Why pick Murdoc over the thousands of other musicians? Because he's the only one I know of who has struck multiple deals with the devil, plus I like his music. (Although I wish I could put Daryan Crecend in this role :() The only problem is I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving him alone with Ness or with,

A wonderful character in FF7 and a valuable member of your party with great melee skills, Tifa is important in making sure that this party isn't a giant sausage fest. As awesome as she is, I don't think she'd get along to well with the rest of the party, except maybe Ness and...

OK here me out! Maya may look weak but she can channel anybody who's dead. Obi Wan, Aeris, Dumbledore, you name it, she can channel them making her the most multi talented and useful member of the party! Plus shes adorable and hilarious, almost everybody loves her. sadly, I can't say the same for,
Playing the role of anti hero/melee fighter/magic user: Shadow the Hedgehog!
"CHAOS... CONTROL!"
Let me clarify, I'm talking about the awesome Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2. Not the gun totting emo loser from all the other titles. In that game, not only is he amazingly cool, he's also ludicrously powerful, able to slow down time, telport (providing the party a fast means of transport), use Chaos Spear to attack from afar, AND use all of sonics many spin dashes and rolls AND transform into Super Shadow. Plus he's a complete badass who's will do waht ever it takes to get what he wants, much like,

Playing the role of thief/ranged weapons specialist, Solid Snake!
The only person cooler then James Bond is the secret operative Solid Snake. He has all the awesome spy abilites that James Bond has, but he also has has all his weapons from the MGS series and his SSBB moveset, complete with grenades, rocket launchers, NIKTA missles, Chypher, SOCOM, proxy mines, flash grenades, rations, C4 and a helicopter/grenade launcher combo. He also has a CODEC that he can use to get tactical info on anyone you happen to face. He is the second most manly man ever behind only,

This guy can not be killed. Seriously, he gotten both a brain hemorrhage, and a harpoon in the heart. Combine that with his awesome skills with guns and knives and you have an unstoable killing machine. And technically, aren't the others the good guys!

Awww, I thought he was coming back. I think we now know why he didn't die thanks to suicidal Micheal. So Charlie was always destined to die. Intriguing!
Any team that seeks to save the world has got to have James!
Who knows if hes coming back or not, that show is crazy. but i will watch it no matter what they do.
