Oh, I hope so. Since the battery died on my gold cartridge I have been yearning to play it again.
I have raging nostalgia goggles for Silver ever since I found out that I had lost my cartridge. Millions of pants will explode if this turns out to be true.
Also note that the new Pokemovie apparently involves the Johto starters in some capacity, so...
Personally, I'll believe it when I see it. And even then, I'm not entirely sure I want to get it. I mean...Silver was the last game I played and loved. I dunno about it being remade. That lends a possibility of failure somehow.
And yes, I realize I say this when I'll probably play it anyway. XD
We in Americaland won't be getting it until 2010 if so, I'm sure.
I was going to make a blog post about this but I then thought "nah that would make me kind of a whore"
Seriously, it would be absolutely pitiful if these series aren't re-released, and I am much more than excited to receive them wide open after 9 years of the purchase of my silver version. In fact it was the very first game I "bought" with birthday cash.
Lurking through Johto and even Kanto, witnessing the decline of Team Rocket, facing the mysterious criminal boy that decides to become my rival and ends cool about being just on his own, this game was magical, it had so much as nostalgia and emotional peaks.
Looking all of the people of the previous veersions older was an amazing experience.
@Doomsday
I'd be with you on that, but FireRed/LeafGreen were just so good (and D/P for that matter) that I'm trusting them on this one ;)
@Moondi
Don't forget the Red Gyrados! But yeah, what you described is exactly why I love G/S/C. Not only was the gameplay incredible, the story and atmosphere were legitimately great. Going back to Kanto and seeing how everything' changed, and that final fight with Red on Mt. Silver give me shivers when I think about them to this day.
Yeah. I didn't get the Advance Pokemon titles as they were mightly pricey, and being poor sucks. =P I didn't like Pearl at all, mainly because I forced myself to finish. Something just seemed so off. Platinum seems to be going okay, but I hacked in the team I wanted (in their base forms, that is) from the start, so that may be helping me like the game more.
Also, RED leading off with a level 87 or so Pikachu? Ouch. I think he is the highest-level trainer battle that doesn't level up per defeat or is found in a Battle Frontier-esque area.
Personally, I'm not gonna get my hopes up until it's actually confirmed. If it's Pokemon Pinball Diamond and Pearl...
@Scary Womanizing Pig Mask
And Lance. Even if he was a well known veteran of the Elite Four on the previous generation, it worked as a shocking surprise for those who didn't own them before.
And facing red was not just hard, it was a fucking clash, it was EPIC. It was like feeling all the crush you did in Red/Blue/Yellow against any trainer that faced you.
This was the last pokemon that I played, and it's great. Is it true this is the only one with the real-time time change?
Also, Totodile pretty much ties with Charmander as the best starter. Piplup is hella close (for being adorable...well, so does the fire chicken), but Totodile for the win.
Silver and subsequently Crystal are my favorite Pokemon games.
These blew my pants off when I was young. They ruined so much in Ruby and Sapphire when they scrapped all the radio/real time/ etc features.
I am looking forward to this, and I will say that there is a 75% chance of this being true, and 25% chance of this, well.... not being true.
I can't say that Gold/Silver/Crystal was my favorite Pokemon Game, but I can say that I am looking forward to this.
I have not heard anything about a new full-blown pokemon adventure and i think we are still a year and a half away from an announcement of such but the timeline and poroduct series thus far does point to a remake.
complete pie in the sky.... how bout a card game remake, or better yet a brand new card game seperate from the wizards ccg..... i need to change topics before i drool on my friends computer.
@Moondi
Yes! :D Love that they added the touch that he didn't talk.
@Ben
Sort of. They got rid of it in 3rd gen, but it came pack in D/P/P
@Evil Chad (omg he's back :D)
!! That would be incredible! I was thinking of playing though the one for the GBC again. Such a great game, and one the begs for wireless.
If this were true, the Silver version would be the first pokemon game I've purchased since... well, Pokemon Silver.
Thanks for the awsome news!
That would be amazing. Second best news ever, after that turtles in time remake.
ive been playing leaf green, so this is relevant to my interests.
Definitely do want!
They're just toying with you so they can crush your dreams when they announce another cop-out dungeon adventure game.
Hey Bwark
Look at what I got!
@TheCleaningGuy
Haha same for me
PIDGEY used MUD-SLAP!
It's super effective!
CYNDAQUIL fainted!
*rages* I loved how when I heard that the first gym was Normal-typed, I didn't think it was gonna be hard. Yeah, no.
..also, I just noticed how fucking long your sidebar is. XD
@Doomsday
Heh, it was even worse if you chose Chikorita
Also, yeah. I think a good quarter of it is Wolf pictures XD
If this happens, making pokeballs out of acorns better be it it.
Check this out, it's a preview picture for next week's "announcement show"
Hopes are raised!
If it does come out, lets hope they include the content cut out of the original versions. They'll probably add more too.
Silver was simply put the best Pokémon game I ever played. Feraligatr is, in my opinion, the best Pokémon in the history of ever. If this remake gets done, it might be enough to push me to buy a DS.
