Just like everyone else here I'm a twenty something nerd who enjoys video games. It wasn't really until I was about fourteen that I really started getting into games and other mediums. As a kid my folks never bought me video games, let me watch movies, or enjoy tv and "most" music so I lived a terribly dull nonexistence. For years I had been skimming along by sneaking over to friends houses and the occasional visit to my uncles who had an original Famicom. Thankfully that all changed and I've been overdosing on everything I can get my hands on since.
Sadly I'm not rich so as much as I love video games I can only play so many so often. However movies and tv happen to be a little cheaper. I believe that all current mediums in our culture cross reference each other whether it be good or bad. Games influence movies, movies influence tv, tv acknowledges that video games exist every once and a while.
Honestly I really enjoy this community and just want to contribute what I can.
Being a massive Bond fan I always try to keep up with all the news that I can about any new James Bond film. And with the recent installment of Bond having been so good I'm really excited about the upcoming film "Quantum of Solace."
Besides the title not being that great everything else that I have heard and read about Quantum is right on the money until recently. As always there is a huge deal about how writes and plays the song for the opening title sequence of the Bond Films. Well after a long time of everyone thinking Amy Whinehouse was going to do the song, which isn't a bad idea, the official song has finally arrived sung by Alicia Keys and Jack White.
That's right Mr. Indie singer himself Jack White. Now I don't have any problem with Alicia Keys because her voice is well suited to match any of the great Bond songs of the past. But mixed with Jack White's nails on chalk board voice it just didn't work for me. The song itself is fine using new guitar riffs mixed in with classic horns which is a great throw back to the older songs.
Now the music video for the song has just been released and I have to say that its warmed up to me a little more. Now Casino Royale's "You Know my Name" by Chris Cornell I was not fond of either, even when the music video came out I was not thrilled until I saw the opening credits for the film. But this time the music video has warmed up to me so as long as the visuals for sequence are good I'm sure the song will fit in well.

It seems okay. It would probably be much better without that Jack White guy, though. He sounds a little too much like Alicia but with this weird warping to his voice. It's annoying. But I'm sure the song will be fine when placed into the movie. Casino Royale's intro was tons better, though.
Millions upon milions of them dude, what else did you expect, the franchise has been around since the 50's, most if not all of the films have been classed as not shit, some are very excellent, the main character is legendary and the films have been watched my hundreds of millions of people.
Not to sound like a prick, but have you been living under a fucking rock for the last 50 years? :)
You didn't like "You Know My Name"? I thought that song was the perfect intro to the frachise reboot. Usually I prefer girls to sing the Bond theme, but Chris Cornell did a good job, since the song was being sung in the (male) first person, and it was a Bond movie.
But this, this is just...weird. I like the fact they tried ti include the big band feel from earlier bond movies with the horn section, but too much of the song had an R&B vibe and there was too much pointless moaning and wailing.
Jack White consistantly proves that his music is horrible. Song would have been much better without him in it. At least his sister "my songs would be easy on expert drums in rock band" is not here also. Might be why the drums have a little more than one beat. Can't wait for the movie though.

Oh, and the video is horrible.
Also, there are Bond fans?
