I am a former Associate Editor of Destructoid who became INTERNET FAMOUS (er, not really...) for my weekly column entitled "Miniboss Monday." You might've heard of it. It was kind of a big deal. Anyway, I've since moved on to becoming a lurker and playing my fair share of games in the meantime. Oh, and I wear a kilt, love retro video games, and drink a lot of beer. Yep. I took the plunge and picked up a sweet 32" LCD HDTV by LG for a cool $599 at Boscov's (LINK)

I was a bit worried when we first unpacked and hooked up the badboy, because the sucker's speakers were crackling. Turns out, my 360 Elite defaulted to Dolby 5.1 sound when I used the HDMI input. I switched it to Digital Stereo and it sounds great. :) (I nearly had a heart attack prior to this, though. It was an adventure and a half to actually get the damn thing.)

I highly recommend this HDTV right now. It's a $1,200 set (Boscov's site is incorrect, check others.) going for $599, and the sale ends today!

I'll take my 7-foot 720p projector with 5.1 surround, but thanks for the heads up. It's a great deal for those who don't have a good set yet.

I got a Panasonic 1080p Plasma. It's gorgeous. I got it at BB in July. So... prices come down. I'm not too bitter.

I'm saving up for a Sharp Aquos. I saw a sweet one that's native 1920 x 1028 (full 1080p) and it's only about $1300. Not a bad price imo.

I got my 42 incher at Wal-Mart for $1200.00. a month later, it was 999$ Fuckers.

Savant, Get a load of Gears of War in HD. You'll shit yourself. Actually any FPS is great in HD. You'll get a kills much higher kill rate.

- Carcassonne
- Oblivion
- Assassin's Creed (for like 3 minutes, just to test the sound.)
- Geometry Wars RE
- Jericho (Demo)
- Guitar Hero III (I can't sync the HDTV lag worth a damn. Ugh.)

No, I don�t think you did get ripped, bhive. Sure, I�ve seen 42" Panasonic plasmas for $1200 (on sale, mind you), but they�re 720p models. A 1080p Panasonic plasma for $1800 four months ago is a solid deal, even if Best Buy�s selling it this week for $1500.
