About Me
Name: Mike "Savant" Ferry

I am a former Associate Editor of Destructoid who became INTERNET FAMOUS (er, not really...) for my weekly column entitled "Miniboss Monday." You might've heard of it. It was kind of a big deal. Anyway, I've since moved on to becoming a lurker and playing my fair share of games in the meantime. Oh, and I wear a kilt, love retro video games, and drink a lot of beer. That pretty much sums me up.

Games that XBLA NEEDS without question.

I love Xbox Live Arcade.

I love bite-sized games that I can buy for a few bones and play with my friends on a whim. As good as the selection currently is on XBLA, there are some serious holes that need to be filled with quality titles of the past; updated for the next-gen. Here's my take:

R.C. Pro AM
Let's face it -- Mad Tracks blows and there's no other racing games on XBLA (Nope, NovaDrome doesn't count.) I always loved RC Pro AM as a kid and I would love to see this game brought up-to-date with improved graphics, physics, and some sort of online play. I think it'd be quite the fun romp.

Rampart
One of the BEST Midway arcade classics that deserves -- No, NEEDS to be updated and brought to XBLA. If you've never played this one, then you are truly missing out. Hell, four player online matches would be an absolute blast.

NBA Jam: Tournament Edition
This game needs no update, no description. Just port it and give us online play and leaderboards and we're set.

Combat
Once again, a game that needs no explanation or introduction. Combat was already updated for the Wii on Wii Play but could you imagine four player tank battles online? I can, and it is good.

Unreal Tournament
Now, we all know that Quake III Arena is slated to be added to the XBLA lineup, but, I'm sure there's a large majority out there who still salivate over the goodness that is the original UT. By far, it was one of the best multiplayer FPS experiences -- and who wouldn't pay ten bones for that?

KABOOM!
One of my personal favorite classic Activision titles that I believe deserves an update, leaderboards, and the ability to play as both the catcher AND the bomber. For those of you who haven't played this one, check out GameTap and you'll see what I mean. To this day, I am still unable to best my father's score of 3000+.

-------------

That's my list for now. What do you guys and gals think? What would you personally like to see updated (or left the same) and brought to XBLA for our gaming pleasure?

How about Rampage? That could be a lot of fun on multiplayer.

RC Pro Am...shouldn't that be Wii bound since it was on NES. I loved that game.

How about Crystal Castles.

Is it just me who hates it when they "modernize" graphics for XBLA ports? They end up looking dull and lifeless when they flatten out the texture.

kaboom! i don't know how well it would work on xbla, i guess it could work.. kidna lacking w/o the atari paddles though...

nba jam would be a brilliant addition, especially w/ 4 player online play.

personally, i think Super Puzzle Figher II Turbo HD Remix will the the game to play on XBLA. its the perfect blend of casual gaming and competition. plus, i'll beat just about anyone at this game w/ the quickness!

Though RC Pro AM was ported to the NES, it was actually an Arcade game first and foremost. Nintendo didn't have any hand in the development, just the publishing on the home console.

And, not to mention, RARE made RC Pro AM, and guess what Microsoft has?

RC Pro AM would be excellent AND fesible.

i agree rampage needs to be ported. that game was classic fun.

on a side note, i think they should all come to the psn as well. just to be fair. [although rampart already has, hasn't it?]

Marvel V. Capcom 2.

If it could be done, I'd never leave the house

With all the love for games like guitar hero, I always thought it would be awesome to have a version of Punk-O-matic on XBLA. That game is super-addictive in small bursts, and people being able to post their songs online could be cool.

I won't believe that RC Pro AM would be coming until I see Banjo Kazooie on XBLA first.

Q3A and UT would mean that no one here would ever be on here. Ever. We'd all be rocket jumping and razor blading each other for hours. NOTHING WOULD EVER GET DONE!!!!
