As I'm sure you all know,
Bomberman LIVE came out yesterday with an utmost glorious of fanfares... well, kind of. Many flocked at the prospect of another iteration of the popular series and the chance to blow up their friends via Xbox LIVE. I was one of those people, considering I have been playing
Bomberman since the NES and SNES days (
Super Bomberman being my favorite.)
Last night, a bunch of us got together on XBL and blasted the night away in quite a few hours worth of multiplayer goodness. Indeed, the most redeeming (and important) part of this game is its multiplayer. Though there are some rather disappointing issues -- such as
everyone needs to "ready up" just to go to the next screen and the fact you can't change game settings after creaton -- this game is simply pure joy to play with your buddies online. It ain't The Haloz, but it IS only $10.
As said, the usual suspects were on-hand for last night's events; Grim, Nick Brutal, Husky, Linde, and quite a few others. Hopefully, this will become a nightly practice.
Anyway, to get right to the point,
Bomberman LIVE is a great redemption for the horror that was
Bomberman Act Zero and is worth every point. If you enjoyoed any of the old
Bomberman games (especially
Super Bomberman and
Bomberman 64) this is a must-have. Period.
