Destructoid Robot is really the Smoking Spaceman Robot?

Destructoid couldn't have chosen a better robot, but it always stuck out to me. When I was 4 or 5 I had a few destructoid type robots and while searching for pics of them I stumbled upon the original robot. It is called the 'Smoking Spaceman Robot' and as you can see, really the only difference between the two is the top of it's head, and the color. I had grown up with a black version with a screen on it's chest. I remember it would take a few steps, smoke would come out of its mouth, and the screen would play followed by an orange missile getting shot out. it was the coolest thing ever!
