About Me

Alias: Saku
Age: Twenty-Three
Location: Florida
Twitter: TalesOfSaku

I've been a gamer almost my whole life. I'm not your average girl who grew up with Barbie's and whanot (though, I admit I still played them -- I enjoyed my brother's GI Joes more, hahaha. Boy toys are just better! .. wait, that didn't sound right.) Having an older brother, it was easier to get games and enjoy them more. The NES was my first love along with Sega right after. I miss Sega systems. : (

Systems I own:
Nintendo
Super Nintendo
Gameboy (aka "The Brick")
Gameboy color
GBA SP
Nintendo DS
Nintendo Wii
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
(Insert Sega Genesis that was broken by my mom's Godchild. ;_;)
Playstation 1 (both old and new version)
Playstation 2 (US and Japanese)
PSP (Have 2, actually. Gave my brother my blue one when I got the FF7 Crisis Core one)
Xbox 360
(Insert PS3 sometime in the future)

You'll come to learn that I am a huge Tales of whore (and that I only bought a 360 for Vesperia). And I really love my RPGs. I'm not really big Xbox fan because of the extreme amount of FPS, though I don't hate them. But I never wanted to own it because most of their games are FPS. But the RPGs are coming so yay :D I love fighting games, and rhythm games, and do not like horror games at all.

Along with video games, also been into anime for as long as I can remember. I love cosplaying, collecting crap to clutter my room, wasting my brain cells on the internet, and being with my friends.

Feel free to contact me if you ever want to talk. I love to meet new people!

The Last Remnant makes this SDTV user very sad. Gobble gobble.

The title pretty much sums up my feelings. The Last Remnant is not SDTV friendly and I wish I had known this before. :( I tried to force through the game and ignore the microscopic font but when I felt my eyes burning, I knew I couldn't play the rest of this game. I'm not one for HDTV's and I don't care how gorgeous a game might look on them; to me, I just want to play my game and enjoy it. Now my ass is going to be out at 2am in front of a store waiting to snag a discounted HDTV.

Baw.

In regards to the game, I was able to play some of it at Colette's house. The exaggeration of their movements amuse me greatly but nonetheless, the details are beautiful and the music is fantastic. The battle system still boggles me and Colette and I couldn't figure out how the system of upgrading levels work. The union idea is different and I don't hate it, but I still have to get used to it.

Anyone else playing this game have a major lag issue? I don't know if it was Colette's 360 or if the game is really like that. When I played the game at home on my system, I didn't notice the lag too much. At her house, the lag was most noticeable during the battles.

I have yet to have a full opinion on this game right now. But I'm not exactly a picky gamer and feel that I will enjoy this game.

And since I won't be online tomorrow, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!! This is the only time all the cousin's get to play video games :] ( This is practically a Thanksgiving tradition between the cousins -- and yes, I'm the only girl ... would have sucked I didn't like games. XD )

GOBBLE GOBBLE NOM NOM HAPPY THANKSGIVING ETC.

I remember when I played my PS3, 360, etc. with my SDTV. Games like Dead Rising pissed me off so much, with the small text and the like. Then I got myself one of 'dem fancy HDTVs, and it was like "woahhh". I can see clearly now the rain is gone.

My cousin was gonna come over and bring his 360 and Left 4 Dead, but our aunt decided to be a bitch and not have Thanksgiving. Actually... she just has to work. Regardless, I'm going to be lacking Left 4 Dead. What a lackluster Thanksgiving.

happy thanksgiving and i also am in need of an hdtv. i think games should have an option to enlarge text. and the "get it" moment will come with the game, hey all have it and that's why the first time i play an rpg is mainly just to wrap my head around the story and mechanics.

happy Thanksgiving yalll!

I kinda hate the games with no SDTV support. (looking at you Dead Rising and Lost Planet) Only cause it usually involves a lot of reading or things you'll need to see...but you can't cause it's programmed widscreen only and in the itty bitty font you can't read.

I'm glad I have a HDTV and I can play games with no problem. But I do hate how companies are pretty much forcing people to basically "GO HD OR GO NO D" crap. Granted...HD is slowly inchin into everyone's home, we're all broke thanks to economy.

Once you go HD, it's hard to go back (at least it was for me). I think the lag is just part of the game. I heard the biggest problem with LR was the glaring technical issues. I still want to try it though.

Well, the Gamespot review does list "abysmal frame-rate problems" as one of the major issues with the game so I'd guess it's a pretty universal thing. I'm not sure how the 360 handles outputting to different displays so that may be why it was less noticable on an SDTV.

I rented C&C: Red Alert 3 for my 360 this week because I didn't fancy buying it for my PC at the moment. I usually have an irrepressible need to finish a game before I send it back, but I had to make an exception this time. On an SDTV many of the units look the same and the text was almost totally illegible, worst I've ever seen in fact (yes I have Dead Rising). All in all, it was pretty hard to play and impossible to enjoy.

SDTV support should be part of this 'certification process' that every game allegedly goes through. Though considering the state of some releases they don't seem to certify a great deal.

I went and bought it yesterday, but when I got home I read some reviews and it got some pretty harsh ones. The lag and framerate thing is definitely a major issue...and continues that trend of games being released broken lately, which makes me a sad panda. :(

Colette Bennett - hopefully it will be fixed on the ps3, though I have major doubts :P

I GOTS ME A SWANKY HDTV!!!!!

52 inches to be precise, I was in the same camp as you about the whole HS issue, but thought as a gamer, I want the best, heck I demand the best, so I went half with ma sister, and in all honesty feel kinda stupid of rejecting HD, really its incredible. :)

If you can't be bothered spending an absolute ton, just buy a new 20-22 inch monitor, with in-built speakers, or even better, just buy a 20-32 inch LCD HDTV, they are rapidly coming down in price, well in England anyway!

Hope this helps. :)
