About Me

Alias: Saku
Age: Twenty-Three
Location: Florida
Twitter: TalesOfSaku

I've been a gamer almost my whole life. I'm not your average girl who grew up with Barbie's and whanot (though, I admit I still played them -- I enjoyed my brother's GI Joes more, hahaha. Boy toys are just better! .. wait, that didn't sound right.) Having an older brother, it was easier to get games and enjoy them more. The NES was my first love along with Sega right after. I miss Sega systems. : (

Systems I own:
Nintendo
Super Nintendo
Gameboy (aka "The Brick")
Gameboy color
GBA SP
Nintendo DS
Nintendo Wii
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
(Insert Sega Genesis that was broken by my mom's Godchild. ;_;)
Playstation 1 (both old and new version)
Playstation 2 (US and Japanese)
PSP (Have 2, actually. Gave my brother my blue one when I got the FF7 Crisis Core one)
Xbox 360
(Insert PS3 sometime in the future)

You'll come to learn that I am a huge Tales of whore (and that I only bought a 360 for Vesperia). And I really love my RPGs. I'm not really big Xbox fan because of the extreme amount of FPS, though I don't hate them. But I never wanted to own it because most of their games are FPS. But the RPGs are coming so yay :D I love fighting games, and rhythm games, and do not like horror games at all.

Along with video games, also been into anime for as long as I can remember. I love cosplaying, collecting crap to clutter my room, wasting my brain cells on the internet, and being with my friends.

Feel free to contact me if you ever want to talk. I love to meet new people!

He can be my Prince anyday.

I'm not going to lie, I haven't played a Prince of Persia game before. I know, I know, I can just hear the screaming right now. I can't really say why I never gave the game a chance but I never had anything against it. Because of this Prince of Persia, I definitely want to check out the older ones. This game is incredibly fun.

For one, the characters. Since I haven't played the other games, I didn't know what kind of character the Prince would be. Seeing his design for this game, I thought he was going to be this bad-ass man with a deep, sexy voice. Well, he still is a bad-ass man but the guy has pure, sarcastic humor. The conversations that him and Elika have can't help but make you smirk or chuckle. I'm only about 25 minutes into the game and I just stumbled into a conversation with the Prince trying to make Elika play a guessing game. By far, this was the funniest conversation yet. It helps that the voice acting is done well and is pleasing to the ear.

The combat system isn't difficult but it is enjoyable. While I don't find the fighting challenging, trying to do numerous kind of combo's is addicting. I think my only complaint about this game is that it's pretty repetitive. There's also the fact that you can never really die. Elika is always there to save the lazy bastard from falling to his death.

If you haven't pick the game up, I suggest you do. To me, it isn't so much the story and the game play that make the game worth while; it is the character's humorous interactions with each other. I look forward to see how the story progresses and to learn more about my Prince.

Now to continue playing~

I think I've played almost every incarnation of the game. Not necessarily beat them, however. I remember playing the Sega CD version of the first game, and tried to play the crappy "3D" version that was basically a remake before Sands of Time hit. I thought the series was kinda spiffy at the time, but I could never get into beating the games.

I love the new Prince too. SoT trilogy Prince was amazing too, but this guy is just too funny. Plus he and Elika have the same depth and personality as SoT Prince and Farah, which is incredible that Ubi were able to replicate that so well...

But anyway, check out Sands of Time first, then make your way through the next two entries in the trilogy. I guarantee you'll have a fun ride.

Agreed. This version of the Prince is definitely my favorite yet. The Sands of Time Prince was cool, but there's just something inherently likable about the new Prince.

The first and third games from the previous series are very good. Sands of Time was amazing at the time, and Two Thrones is also a lot of fun. Warrior Within focuses too much on shitty combat and making the prince as miserable and emo as possible. In general, the old prince is nowhere near as cool as the new one.

Also, the combat is completely different in the other games.

As for the new game, I absolutely agree 100% about the characters. He can be my prince too.

While I do get the occasional impression of a heavy handed, shoe horned in love plot I have to say that the interactions between the Prince and Elika are often charming and hilarious. My favourite so far is when the Prince comments that he likes Elika's shirt and she replies that she has a spare if he would like to try it on. I usually laugh quite heartily at responses I don't expect and Elika's retort has topped the list in that respect.

Fighting each boss corrupted five times is not a good design decision, though. Other than that, it's an enjoyable game.

Do want: that game.

Why is Christmas so close, yet so far away? WHY?

I can't wait to play :D The fact the characters seem more like American flirts rather than Persian adventurers nags me though... anyone have a problem with that?

heh ;p since you put prince of persia in bold when you're seeing the first bit of your post on the community blogs page it doesn't show up so it says "I'm not going to lie, I haven't played a game before.

;ppppppppppp

I enjoyed the last trilogy greatly, I liked the aspect of time travel and the big evil monster sent to correct the timeline that chases you (I wanna say he's called the Dikatanam but I remember that was that really hyped game that turned out to be shit) in the second game, but the rock tracks that kicked in were really out of place.

I've been playing PoP forever and I find this installment to be really entertaining. My jaw dropped the first time I healed a Fertile Ground, the animations are just great and have hardly any interruption, and the conversations really give some depth to the characters. You can see the relationship between the Prince and Elika growing, them caring for each other more and more with each conversation. Makes the ending much more impactful for me (won't discuss further for spoiler reasons). The combat isn't amazing, but this is the most fun I've had in a game in a long time. I can't wait for the next one.

I haven't played a PoP game, either, but this one looks so damn beautiful that I may have to give it a go.

I'm liking it too. It IS extremely easy, but coming off the Fallout 3 marathons I've been doing lately have made that fact and the setting really refreshing. Sometimes I just have to stop and take in the visuals since there's so much beautiful stuff going on.

I thought that guessing game part was pretty funny too.

If you like his voice, you can get the same voice actor on Uncharted for the PS3, if your planning to get that on Christmas try out the Uncharted bundle.

Yay! I'm loving it too, especially the optional conversations. I guess I'm going to have to finally play Sands of Time next...

I never really liked the prince. He always seems very forced and plastic =/
