So, I just moved to a new apartment this weekend. Have everything set up in and try and play some 360. I already know I don' have internet yet, so I get on thinking I'll just play some Castle Crashers, right?

WRONG

Apparently the issue of NOT being able to play XBLA games on a offline 360, even with a XBL gold account profile, has still not been fixed.

Why!!? Also, an added bonus, for some reason all the licenses to my videos on my 360 hard drive now have status codes due to not having access to XBL.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy XBL. But this is a problem I see only becoming worse as time goes on.

Has it really come down to XBL being a requirement to play single player games?

upon further inspection, I realize this blog may be slightly pointless to anyone's interest.

But I would like to know if an update has been released yet to fix this, because it might be awhile until I can get XBL at my current residence.

That's a damn shame, nothing like that for the PS3, I played all my PSN games when I had no internet recently. As far as I can tell, the wii does not have the same problem as well.

Seems pretty damn atrocious of MS to do that, then again, the big three have been pretty atrocious to their customers so far this generation.

I hope a patch gets released to fix that issue of yours. :)

I brought my 360 hard drive over to my buddies house to play some Worms 2 that I had bought about 10 minutes prior. I hadn't even played it yet. He has the arcade console and no internet. I pop the drive into the box and flick on the power. Every single one of my arcade games was converted into the trial versions. Every. Single. One. I was livid and Worms-2-less. MS fails big time on this one. So yea, I smell what your stepping in.

Yeah, rather odd. Is it a DRM issue possibly?

There is a reason.
-Download Castle Crashers on Hard-Drive
-Sign into Xbox Live at a friends House, Download Castle Crashers
- Castle Crashers is now on your 360 and a friend's 360.

Still, it sucks.

I went through this when my 360 died, and I got a replacement. Anything your downloaded on your old system isn't playable on your new/different system unless you are hooked up to the net.

Just this last year they made it so you can transfer all your games, themes, bla bla bla, but it's a pain in the butt, and you can only do it once per year. But prior to this, there wasn't any easy way to fix it at all.

It's stupid and it needs fixing. I bought the game, why can't I play it where ever and when ever I want?
