Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Honestly, dumbing down a deep system so that the idiots that didn't enjoy the first game can ignore the sequel while shafting the audience who liked the original...just...why?
They have their Halo. Give us our Deus Ex.
On a side-note, I personally loved both Deus Ex titles.
I hope it's released for the 360 as well.
"I hear the fail-train coming." *choo* *choo*
Deus Ex without Warren Spector (System Shock, Ultima Underworld, Thief) is like Metal Gear Solid without Hideo Kojima.
Worked for System Shock 3.
I'm all for a streamlined experience but they really need to keep at least the fundamental game play elements like nanotech augmentations, skills and weapons upgrade intact, allowing you to build your characters abilities as you choose fit and approach the game how you choose.
The world needs to be a lot more open than IW. You should have a bunch of different paths to approach you goals. 2 or 3 paths with obvious breadcrumbs on them just won't do,
With Deus EX you have an already great framework - They can really do something special with the new console hardware. Bioshock proved that tis kind of game can be successful. They just need to make it less dumbed down than Bioshock. Dont get me wrong, I loved Bioshock, but it was the Deus Ex/System Shock inspired gameplay gimped to make it more accessible. I think a game can be deep and accessible but it seems most publishers disagree.
IF its Deus EX in just name they shouldn't bother
Hopefully they keep this closer to the 1st one than the 2nd one.
