Sega Addicts Podcast Episode 2 Records Tonight!

The second episode of the Sega Addicts Podcast will be recording tonight. The main topic of discussion: Sonic Spin-offs, games staring Sonic that aren't traditional 2D or 3D platformers.

Last week we ran out of time and didn't make it to the listener questions. This week will be different as there is much less news and releases to discuss. So give us some questions and we'll answer as many as we can.

Also, thanks to everyone who listened to our debut podcast. It's had a great reaction so far and I've heard nothing but good comments from everyone!

It was a very entertaining podcast guys, keep em coming.

Spin-offs? I remember a Show called "SegaMania" that was broadcasted in Chile in the 90's. Just a bunch of guys playing Sonic, showing the Sonic cartoons and with a giant hosting, i'm sure there's something on youtube. And yes, there was a Sonic Cereal here. Yummy.

I'm just gonna repost my questions from the last episode.

I wasn't involved in the community when the Dreamcast officially "died" and Sega significantly decreased as a major player in the videogame industry. I'd like to hear about what was going on in the community at the time and what the reaction was. And how did you guys personally react and what did you think Sega's future was looking like back then?

Haha... I don't think many people had even been anywhere near a Game Gear. I'll give this thing a listen when I get the chance.

I'm just curious what you guys think about the way Sega is marketing and publishing their games over the last year or so. While they've been doing pretty good to push the Platinum Games titles, they've ignored or blundered countless others. For such a large company, it's regrettable that many of their titles that have potential are being released with nearly no push. Yakuza 4 during FF13's release week? Valkyria Chronicles remaining practically unknown until it was almost too late? How come I didn't see a single ad for Phantasy Star Zero? It may not have the widest spread of appeal, but it was so relatively unknown that reviews for the game are STILL appearing from major online outlets.

I could go on for a bit, but I'd rather wait to hear your opinions.
