Here's what I'm doing this week.
As far as music goes, here's my week's pick:
Beach House- Devotion
My album choice of the week, Devotion by the band Beach House. These two lovely people create the most moody and underwater-exotic sounds I've ever heard. Being a fan of the previous Beach House album, I knew exactly what this would sound like and that I would enjoy it. There are very minimal percussion sounds, mostly light drums or drum sounds with shakers, while the real draw here are the haunting vocals and the echoing guitar parts, combined with the lead's gloomy synth. Go ahead and pick this up.
Games: In b4 Niero (or I) can't spell.
I'm playing through Devil May Cry 4, which despite my gripes on the half-hour install, I'm enjoying for the most part, along with Unreal 3 for the PS3 (bad rental choice is bad) which is okay, single player is complete shit-biscuits. I'll probably finally start playing through Mass Effect, get some Lost Odyssey on, and keep plowing through Earthbound for Snes.
Other Things:
I need to get Radiohead tickets this week. They are playing at the Nissan Pavillion, in Virginia, (I hate this state) and I'm getting the tickets from this guy Chris who i met on craigs list. I pray to god I'm not raped in the process. Maybe I'll also finish making another song. Here comes a shameless plug for my terrible music: www.myspace.com/zapzappewpew Zap Zap is a project I've been working on, and there should be a few people joining me in the future. Be sure to add me as a friend and spam guro on my profile, I'm sure it'll increase my traffic.
Now that I'm finished plugging my music and talking about shit you don't care about, feel free to comment how much you don't care about it, but be sure to somehow include what your thoughts on Beach House are if you liked them, or what your week is going to be filled with. Will it be a hotpocket made of win or fail? You must decide, nao.
omg, I love Beach House. I got their first album for my birthday in 2006 and I have waited so long for a new album. My favorite song is Apple Orchard, because it's so haunting and melodic, but then again most of Beach House's music is like that.
oh, and if you have Audiosurf, playing through the tracks on their debut album is almost transcendent after a six pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade.
lol I has Radiohead tix for St.Louis .... but they are Lawn
have you heard Coconut Records, I'm diggin them and Vampire Weekend recently
I just bought Vampire weekend as well! Vampire weekend has such a fresh sound, my favorite songs are a-punk (because I can play it), campus, One (blake's got a new face), i stand corrected, and walcott.
Gooood tunes.
Also, I'm going to see Beach House in D.C on the 4th of April, the day before my birthday
