So, earlier this summer I got to tinker around with L4D. It was an easy game to throw into the "Game of the year" ranks from the get go. Did I just say Get Go? After finally getting to play online with some friends I have a little stronger opinion about the game. These are a few of the things that I have loved, as well as some of the issues that drive me crazy.
#1. When you are playing it, you should send KING3VBO invites to your game non-stop
#2. Even if you are playing gears, you should send KING3VBO invites to your game non-stop
It never gets unfunny
#3 I fucking hate, hate, hate the fact that how good you play forces things to happen. I like how much of the AI works but really get frustrated that the closer to perfection that you play, the more fucked you will get. Whereas the shittier you play, the easier things are. I like that its unpredictable in when and where enemies are, ammo is, guns are, etc. I just hate how blatent that patern becomes depending on how well you play. If you really work as a team, and play a smart and focused round, it only means that you WILL get fucked more often. I hate saying, we made it through this wave so lets haul ass before the next one happens. And then, oh no there is a smoker. that means a hunter is also right here. that means Im going to get puked on by that fat puke dude thingy. Oh no, we killed them all and have plenty of health. that means the tank is going to come early.
I am talking about play on expert. In no way does this make it a bad game. Its an awesome game. it just has some issues that work against you too much. Smart play in a game = reward. Teamwork = reward. The AI has an ANTI-concept of this. If it see's it happening, it makes you pay for it. A lot of this will be confused for awesome AI by gamers They will say, but in RL you would have no idea what was going to happen next. True. But its also true that in RL you wouldnt constantly get fucked for thinking things out.
Keep in mind that I am not being critical of playing the game through once or twice. In that sense, it becomes cinematic and awesome. but the replay value in AI terms takes a giant shit once you have spent time with the game.
I guess I have always had serious issues with AI and how game devs use it. In the command and conquer games, better AI = faster. Not smarter, not focused. It just means they attack you sooner. If you make it past the wave, you can pretty much win the round.
Other than that, L4D is great. the intensity is epic. Multiplayer is a great addition to a game that I wouldnt expect to have it. At least the way that L4D uses it. Single player is spooky and gives me a boner. I big spooky halloween boner mind you.
Boo Berry boner. Count bonerula. Frankenboner. I have to play it in my car so I can hide my boner type of boner
Yeah, its all HD.
All that said. Tonight. Anyone wanting to play L4D. Hit me up. gamertag = Roncore. I was thinking about doing something for Friday night fights where we see how low of a score a team can get and finish the round. then take a pic or screenshot and submit it. So if you want to try it out tonight hit me up.
LOVE,

Yo dawg, I heard you like fire, so we put a fire on yo fire so you can burn while you burn.
Eh, the way I look at it the system isn't there to reward you for playing well, it's there to keep the game interesting and keep you on your toes. By measuring your performance and acting accordingly the game constantly presents you with a challenge. I'd rather that than be pissing through everything after the first couple of hours.
The problem with what I'm reading is that the AI is predictable. I thought it was meant to keep changing things up and throwing something different at the players. If it's really that predictable and after a playthrough or two you hit a plateau where the AI is so predictable that's a big Fail. Sounds like they need to stuff a few more tricks up its sleeve.
Nov 17th is so close!! HNNNNNGGGGG!!!
Was that even English?
Also, boners.

Have you had those Boo Berry Fruit roll-up things? They're pretty damn good.
I like Left 4 Dead. What's up with this 360 nonsense though?
I'm so happy I chose to get it on Steam, but then again, I haven't played it on Xbox 360 yet.
I'll definitely be up for some L4D. I was about to invite you a few times over the last few nights, but it looked like you were already in a game.
@Wexx
The 360 version is the superior version. Haven't you heard?
Sharpless: I'll let you know when I'm rolling in free, new maps :)
@Wexx: They have confirmed support for the 360 version that will be much more akin to the content seen on the PC version of TF2 than the console version. That means everyone should be able to look forward to free maps and content!
Boo Berry boner...LMAO.
OBAMA!
OBAMA!
If I wasn't picking up Mirror's Edge tonight I'd join in :(
