I'm not as excited about the PS4 as everyone else is.
Alright, so they made a better impression at E3 than Microsoft by sheer virtue of not being Microsoft, but that doesn't mean anything. Everyone was too fired up to notice that Sony is going to charge fees for online multiplayer on it (and don't give me that whole "but they're gonna give you free games" bullshit - it's not free if you have to pay for it). Besides, once Sony becomes the dominant console manufacturer, they'll become as greedy and short-sighted as Microsoft. That's a guarantee.
The video game industry is in such a shitty state right now that companies will be praised simply by not fucking their customers in the ass as badly as their competitors. They can make as many promises as they like; but that's the thing about promises - they cost nothing to make. Until they prove that their customers are as important to them as they claim, don't give them undeserved praise.
