Sick and tired of seeing the same old Hospital and Train Station levels in the current Left 4 Dead videos?
Not me, at ALL actually, but left4dead411.com recently posted a little preview (from a GFW Radio podcast) of another campaign that'll strike closer to home for the lovers of more classic zombie cinema.
The Cornfield level starts you in the middle of the woods at night and ends up at a farmhouse with a zombie-filled cornfield and barn. According to the podcast, the finale takes place in the farmhouse, and the vehicle to take you away is a truck armed with machine guns.
Wow. Really? I was just talking with one of my friends a few weeks ago about this very same idea, saying how cool it'd be to break away from the urban setting and into the most classic form of zombie horror locations. Before they went to the mall. Before they enlisted in the Army. Before they got British. Before they fought sharks.
Defending a rickety old farm house from multitudes of frantic undead with 3 other (hopefully) capable teammates is a most welcome addition to the already gruesome and fast paced shooter coming out early next year for the PC and 360 (the latter which will probably be released in June... boo).
Color me excited, even if all the screenshots I have are in black and white... and not from this game.
Hopefully they'll release some images soon, but until then, enjoy the long, horrible wait.
thanks to Dork for reminding me I proofread too much
This game looks so fucking badass, unfortunately, I don't think I like the white glow around partners behind other stuff. It makes no sense. I would think part of the experience of staying together would be to keep an open line of communication and line of sight, no by gaining the super power to see through walls.
I felt the same way at first, but then I added in the fact that yes, you will get shot by your stupid teammates plenty of times. The glow should hopefully decrease that number slightly, since you're more aware of who's around the corner.
Although, if there was an option to turn if off, I'd do it, especially if I was playing with people who've read the zombie survival guide front to back 3+ times on the toilet, like me.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Still, can't wait, though.

I would gladly have you in my survival team during a zombie apocalypse.
