Yeah, it's true. Just did some checking with various inside sources. It's happening.
Story link here
Gaming blog Kotaku has broke the story that Peter Moore will leave his position at Microsoft to head up EA Sports. After hearing of this, I did my own asking around to various industry sources and so far, two independent insiders have confirmed the move.
While this may look like a step down for Moore, keep in mind that the pressure of the continued technical issues with the Xbox 360 could lead Microsoft down a very dark path. Perhaps Moore is looking to jump ship before the whole thing comes sinking down? Stay tuned for official news on what would be an earth-shattering development in the videogame world.
Well he knew it was coming sooner or later, I mean M$ only made the 360 to stop Sony from a monopoly and they have succeeded. So all they have to do is sit back, and maybe release one more sub-par (read:faulty machinery) console and call it quits as Nintendo mops up!
Then we can rejoice at the return of Sega in the form of DREAMCAST 2!
1) They disliked you while you were here
2) Something about you dissing destructoid on Epilectic Gaming last week or something
3) All of the above
Very interesting news anyway I never envisioned him in that position (no sexual innuendo intended)
Apology or gooooo fuck yourself. Cereal.
Bye.
prolly not...
Im nice, I just asked for a simple little...
"Drop trou, and squeeze out, a cleveland steamer, on my chest."
And Summa, before you start posting all willy-nilly on D'toid's blog again, perhaps you'd care to explain yourself for this recent quote you made regarding your former employers.
We'd sure like to know why you'd say shit like this about this site and Kotaku, and then turn around the VERY NEXT day with a fucking rumor. It could turn out true for all I care, and probably will be, but it's still a fucking rumor that you're posting, which by your own qualifications is an uneducated and unenlightened opinion, since by posting on this blog, you're obviously an outsider to the industry.
But, I'll reserve comments about your professional attitude on this till you post a reply.
So, this ain't moving past Rumor-Town until I see otherwise from a REAL news source, and not your crappy CD Key spammed blog.
You've got all the room in the world to type up an explanation, make it all rational-like, and win us over again. If you don't bother to and wanna blow us all off with 1 sentence replies, then you've burned this bridge and you need to move on dude.
I even had the same sort of discussion with Niero and Ron on this very subject of blogs. Try to redirect your unabashed hate elsewhere.
Unless we're not worth your time because you're an ass.
I don't go letting my name get dragged through shit where it could hurt my reputation professionally.
You're not the first editor to have that opinion on this topic, so consider yourself safe, IMO.
I admit, that I myself was ignorant at times to a lot of things going on in the gaming industry, simply because I wasn't inside and didn't have that access. What I said was completely true with blogs and who writes for them -- for the most part. Jim, try not to take it as an insult, it's just a fact of life in this industry as I have been able to see it now looking from the inside out.
I wasn't trying to discredit anyone, just pointing out that as my experience and exposure within the industry grows, so do the glaring mistakes that I constantly see. I saw this all the time even before, during, and after my life at Dtoid.
Again, there's nothing wrong with what Destructoid does. To me, Dtoid isn't your everyday blog. It's a community site for and by gaming fans, not a serious news source. And to me, there's nothing wrong with that. We need sites like this to exist to keep others in check, which is exactly what Dtoid does.
I watched your clip on GGL
You just completely cut down this site in your clip. And Kotaku, and Crecente, all gaming blogs, publicly. I don't think BluFire missed anything in his assessment of your statement.
I'm not personally privy to your roles you take in the game industry but claiming to be closer to the industry 'cause you moved to LA is about as fucking lame as me claiming the same status as being "in" cause I played the Halo 3 beta.
Seriously weak.
On a note to your comments on GGL, you cut down the entire credibility of this site, in public, and trashed this site who's community you spent months with. It's distressing to me and to a few others here that you're going to come up here and act like there's nothing wrong with what you said. It's pretty black and white. You don't respect D'toid. Fine.
Go away.

Just because you get a different perspective on a certain situation doesn't mean you should take all that into accountablity of what you already know of the industry, but rather continue to try and change, or be considerate of what you say about your outlook and opinion, even if bad, so that you can professionally continue to do what's best for the benifet of gaming, journalism, and your "career".
Microsoft just confirmed the news we exclusively broke two hours ago: Peter Moore resigned from Microsoft.
Moore will be replaced by Don Mattrick, a former president of EA and current external adviser for Microsoft, who will now lead the Interactive Entertainment Business for Microsoft. While the official release says that Moore "has decided to move his family back to the Bay Area for personal reasons and has secured another opportunity in the video games industry", we've heard that calls have already started going out within the industry confirming that the other "opportunity" is EA where he will head up EA Sports.
You're as justified as you want to be to make that claim, but you also affect the potential journalistic credibility of others by making those comments. ANY editor on this site that has aspirations of moving on from here as you so famously seem to have ARE affected by comments from other people in the industry. When you make a shit comment like you did, you hurt others. You also hurt this site in general by attempting to discredit it completely as non-news and rumormongering. I think that the E3 coverage on this site was as comprehensive and well thought out as on any other site out there, and that aside from a lack of streaming coverage from the show, they had just as much coverage and "news" on this site as they did IGN and Gamespot.
I tracked both Kotaku and this site throughout the show and found both of their coverage pools to be informative and compelling, and with the same level of content as IGN and Gamespot.
You claimed many times you were on the "inside" even while writing for Destructoid. Why is it only now that you have decided that you can't stand us, or that we pass off rumors as fact. Furthermore, why are you using our facilities to promote your own work if we're not worthy? Even further to THAT, why are you writing on a gaming blog, which you badmouthed, and posting a rumor, that you smirked at? It would strike me hypocrisy.
Oh, and don't patronize me. I was, of course, talking directly with executive producers and CEOs on Friday, and that's not even close to what my colleagues have been doing. We don't need to be told about 'seeing the light' and we're not 'ignorant'.
Excuse me if I go run around in circles outside till I puke now, because this bores me.
This was not said electronically, and there's no other way to take that than as a straight up insult. Now Summa, YOU are the one with an outside perspective of Destructoid, and you passed your opinions of us off as fact. All I would advise is that you don't do it again, because bridges are best left untorched.
I heard it was called "douchelord"
He is doing this for the PAX contest, then?
Loser.
It's not gonna get any more mature than that, because I really don't feel a need to explain why I feel that way ;)
