Ivy Infinite: B+K (to put her whip into sword form), While Standing B, WS B, WS B, WS B, WS B, etc.
The timing is difficult at first (at least it was for me), but as he said in the video, the longer it goes the easier it is to do. So expect to see a lot more of Ivy in ranked matches for a little while. But I suppose some good could come out of this as it may stop people from complaining that Kilik and Nightmare are cheap (they aren't) for a brief period.
You aren't the only one Neobones. my love for fighters died shortly after those awesome high school days playing Tekken 2. i really can't get into them any more. though SCIV does look fun
I have yet to see a fighting game to work online. SC4 is almost impossible to play since you can't see when to block and when to hit yor opponent. So it's more or less luck.
Also I have been able to pull of something similiar with Mitsurugi once.
Orcist dont feel bad brotha, I havent played it yet. I still play the original on my Dc too, but I'm going to play it today. I have a 28$ credit at play and trade.
and my buddy works there so i can just play games in the lounge all day for free.
DOA4 worked online. I played the shit out of that. Hell SC4 works online too! You need a new connection buddy.
I mean sure, if you play someone with a shitty connection then you're pretty much fucked. But all the games I've played with the exception of a few have been lag free.
@Kryptinite: I'm sorry, but SC4 doesn't work online like it works offline. Even with a full 5 bar connection. The game does a good job at hiding the lag, but it is there.
I don't really have a problem playing online with SC4 until I come across a spammer who just backs you in the corner and does the same two slashes over and over and over (Mitsurugi players. I'm lookin at you).
I did find out though that if your playing against a spammer and your using Cervantes you can end that shit with the quickness. Just do his teleport slam (the one that falls from the sky) by hitting <- Triangle + Circle and it usually ends up being a quick way of ending that nonsense.
OK, it doesn't work like it does offline. That's not going to happen until we all get fiber/satellite connections ro something. but I think it works well for our current infrastructure.
I've only experienced noticeable lag in, like, less than 5% of the matches I've played online. That's pretty fucking great; I was expecting (and fearing) far worse.
i played against mitsurugi the other day, and the guy did almost nothing but (down+a).
he hit with it probably twice in the whole 3 rounds, because as soon as i realised what he was doing i impacted, or blocked it, did nightmares (down+a+g) throw and went to town on his cheap ass.
while it does annoy me that people are more interested in winning than playing properly, there is a counter to almost every cheap trick, and im sure there's a way out of this one too.
Yep, people will find the cheapest shit imaginable. I've seen some of the stuff you guys are talking about as well.
I also played against a guy using Lizardman who put himself in the crawling stance and just tapped (A) over and over again. It shouldn't have killed me.... but it did.
Oh and on the Ivy juggle thing, remember that you do have some air control while falling, so if someone tries to do this to you maybe just hold up or down to get out of it. Or maybe use yoda's force cancel thing too.
I'm hoping for patches in general right now. Not releasing an arcade version first means the game couldn't be playtested as good as Soul Edge/Blade and SoulCalibur I and II. Let's hope that they implement any updates at all, instead of just charging us for stuff that's on the disc.
if you play like a cheap asshole (as you've stated you do in other blogs) then your victories count for nothing - you're not a winner, you're a cheap asshole.
i hope we do meet online, because i will eat you alive.
I can guarentee you'll never feel bad if you DO lose to an ivy doing this. the timing needs to be too perfect which especially online is not going to happen. It requires to much skill that a spammer would never even bother with.
Online is fine if your attacking which is why mister Kilik, BIG FILTH, doesn't see the problem. It comes into play when you try and guard and heaven forbid IMPACT.
pressing quick attacks are easy to do online, but if you are not on top of your game and even BETTER at guarding then you really are you will lose to them.
there is imput lag online. for 80% of the moves in the game it doesn't matter. But if you ever try to do a "JUST" move (and if you don't know what that is you are so far from ever understanding why people complain about online you should just stop) It will be based entirely on luck.
when you have to imput a command at 1/60 of a second perfect ANY lag which this game has even if it is 3/60 of a second ruins it.
which is why I gave up trying to guard impact opponents obvious repetitions. Its easy to do offline 100% of the time, but online you'll be good to get even 50% of the impacts you know you should.
so again. BIG FILTH. your not good (well not as good) you just use kilik and use his long range and quick ending lag on his easy moves to pressure opponents where in a offline match they could guard and counter attack in the 30/60 second window that those moves DO have to negate spamming. again your NOT good. online just makes attack spam a much better option then ever fighting the way the game is designed.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm so glad this has the ability to be patched now. Damn I love this game.
Ivy Volleyball.
Just crank up the angle on the direction of the "Ball", add a third player and BAM! Instant success.
Fuck Kilik.
Also I have been able to pull of something similiar with Mitsurugi once.
Hell even MK2 people sit there and cheap the shit out of the game... I cannot stand people that just crouch through the whole match.

Also, fuck Ivy.

Im shocked to see how many of you are having connection issues.
protip: invest in a high speed internet connection.
;)
O wait
you seem to be missing the big picture.
if you play like a cheap asshole (as you've stated you do in other blogs) then your victories count for nothing - you're not a winner, you're a cheap asshole.
i hope we do meet online, because i will eat you alive.
and send me hookers dressed like ivy.
with "whip-swords"
I'd tell you what it is, but I don't know shit about playing Taki
adapt.
;)
Wait, no. That's WRONG AND STUPID.
There's a difference between getting hit by simple, one-move 100% combos and learning how to play the game properly.

I doubt even pornstars could pull off that outfit without glue or something, let alone fight in it.
