About Me

I am a videogamer girl from Spain, who loves videogames (of course), and specially that genre called survival horror.

I don't use to write in English so, please, be comprehensive about any mistake I could possibly make.

(Do I need to say that I love Mass Effect too?)

Resident Evil Degeneration

Since the first trailers of the movie were published, I've got the feeling that this movie was just an excuse to join together one more time, two of the most beloved characters of the Resident Evil series. The teaser trailer of the Comic-Con and the one of TGS showed that Capcom, at least had developed a full story with new characters and all new stuff.

Now, I'd been lucky enough to finally see that movie, and I must say that it had surprised me a lot more that I thought.

Except for some facial animations (really weird sometimes), the film has a good quality, specially light, fire and explosion effects, and a really good movement animations in the action scenes. I must say that, by seeing the YouTube trailers, I'd expected the worst but luckly I was wrong.

The story, even it doesn't fit precisely in the series' argument, has its own personality and it's quite interesting by itself to be seeing by not RE fans. It connects too with some events of Resident Evil 4 and, the most important, it links with the future Resident Evil 5, thanks to that "evil" new corporation known has TRICELL, the one that Excella Gione (and maybe Wesker) manages from the dark.

Concluding, RE: Degeneration is a very good and interesting movie that shows us the path that the "real action" movies would have been taken from the beginning. We've had to wait for 7 years for a movie "from fans for fans" that finally respects the spirit of the series.

Thanks Capcom.

I thought the movie had a great first half, but then it got boring. It did have spiffy animation though. Also, the RE series is pissing me off by adding too many evil corporations into the mix.

I'm happy to hear it is good. I should have known Capcom wouldn't have fucked themselves over by just giving us a CGi version of the shitty live action Resident Evil movies.

Terrible voice acting
Terrible lip syncing
Terrible animation
Terrible scriptwriting

My god the faces were just fucking AWFUL.

I watched this and fail to see how anyone can think this movie was anything approaching 'good'. It wasn't.

The movie looks, feels and flows exactly like the video game. That's its biggest strength also it's biggest weakness. If you think you could like a hour and a half long RE cut scene then you will enjoy this movie, otherwise you will probably hate it. Definitely a rental though, I don't think I would watch it more than once or twice.

I dont know, I actually didnt like this movie too much. I though Leon had one face on the entire movie. Didnt change any kind of expression.

I thought the evil British guy working for WilPharma was actually Wesker in disguise, WRONG. Just some douche bag.

Meh, I thought it would have been better.

It was alright. It slowed down in places. Zombie section should have been played out more. That was the best part. Leon, even though hes a bad ass, needs to be less of a badass and more of a human being.

"kiss ya later" ?!?!

Just happy to hear the proper actors playing the voices and something actually resembling a Resident Evil game in the movie. Two Thumbs up

I'm a fan of RE and have the movie trilogy on BR, but I couldn't get past about 10 minutes of this movie. I understand they are going for the B-Movie dialogue, which was welcome and often hilarious in the first RE's, but intentional or not, the script was unbearable.

Bad writing is one thing, but after watching to the point where she takes the mask off the guy in the airport, I couldn't take anymore. I guess script standards aren't too high for people since overall, people here seem to be enjoying the movie.

Too bad this isn't what we get in the BIG SCREEN MOVIE.

you know...the one that sucks completely and has the main character doing some completely random fighting? yea...that.
