Hey everyone. I wish I had more details on this as I dislike not having complete information to post. But, after asking the associates for details, here is all I have...
Soul Calibur IV XBOX 360 Tournament
Hastings Entertainment (Music/Movie Store)
June 13, 2009
2PM (Check-In 1PM)
The associate said it is being done by corporate, so, I take that as it will be done nationwide. However, it isn't a bracketed tourney AFAIK. All prizes are likely to be local to each store. This is very new (some of you that work there ::looks at Twister 1988:: might have had the heads up, plz feel free to add any additional details if you have any) and, therefore the prizes have not yet been announced. I think it will likely be something to the tune of a gift card, game and/or gaming-related-swag.
Here is the zoomed in flyer..
The source of this is the store location in Norman, Oklahoma. I went there yesterday and figured I'd share. Since the guys there didn't have all the info, my advice is to call a Hastings (in "a college town near you") if you are interested to get details as I'm sure the time, date and maybe even console platform may be different from location to location.
Again, sorry if this is somewhat incomplete, yet, I asked all the questions I could. My SC4 'skills' are already rusty, so, I guess it is time for me to practice and try and prove I'm not a scrub. AFAIK it is bring your own 360 controller and signups are limited. Also, you might consider bringing a second backup 'standard' or wireless controller, just in case for some reason they balk at customs.
Whoa wait, WUT!? Time to brush up. Thanks for the heads up!
Too bad I suck at SCIV and don't have a Hasting anywhere near me. :)
If I win, I will soooo be getting/saving towards Rock Band 2 Drums. I played their in-store kiosk (which, BTW is totally awesome since it has the whole band kit playable) and now I have even more serious case of do want for the drums!
By the way, you live in OKC, correct? I'm coming over.
Hmm, I might have to sign up for this. It might not be worth the drive from Weatherford, but it's better than not having a fighting game scene at all ( my friends are ass at fighting games X_X).
