Collaborations. You see them in music, in movies, but now it seems games want to be like the cool kids too.

Kojima to Castlevania.

Some franchises can only go so far on the same recipe until they burn out. MegaMan for instance. (Inafune didn’t get the memo apparently). However, I’m glad to see Konami realizing this with their Castlevania series. All the games have always been great, nearly every one, but 2D Metroidvania styled gameplay can only take you so far. Give us something new and fresh! If there’s anyone who can do it, it’s Hideo Kojima.

Team Ninja to Metroid.

And Metroid. Yeah, we did get Metroid Prime a ways back, which was a huge change for the legendary 2D sidescrolling series, and it was phenomenal, but after 3 games of the exact same thing it get’s a bit dull. Nintendo knows how much Metroid is worth, because at the moment it’s practically one of its only franchises that stars someone with a gun-like weapon shooting stuff. And if you haven’t noticed lately, the “hardcore” fans like that.

Handing over a triple A title like that isn’t Nintendo’s style. Everything is for the most part always kept in house, but I’m happy to see them trust Team Ninja to make something brand new and unexpected. Well, not really unexpected. We all know what we’re getting when you put a female into a Team Ninja game… bouncing chests. But then again the “hardcore” like that too, right?

What will we see next? Sonic handed over to Retro Studios? Haha… wait… that might not be a bad idea.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

Seriously man, stop with the copy pasta. We get it, you want to share your stuff, but posting 5 blogs in a row and pushing down today's other blogs is not cool.

Man, I'm so loved on here. Gotta appreciate the attention. Haha.

But anyway, sorry guys. I just joined up. Looked around and just posted up a few blogs from the past week or so. Didn't think you'd welcome me with opens arms like you guys did. You're so thoughtful and considerate. :)

Seriously, though, I wasn't aware of the non-written rules about posting. I apologize for that, and don't worry, I still love you.

Don't worry to much, some people here take these silly community blogs way to seriously. Its not like there's anything worth reading on them at the moment anyway(or for quite a awhile when I think about it).

But yea, pace yourself, 5 quick blogs is crazy.

"Seriously, though, I wasn't aware of the non-written rules about posting."

Actually, it is. From the new members guide: "You can publish anything you like, but remember that you are sharing this site with other gamers. You will have an engaged audience from day one. Since the blog is shared in a stream, its probably not a good idea to publish 10 articles at once."

So quit being a sassypants.

As Cataract pointed out, the rules are written, and beyond that I've got something else for you.

Lurk - To read without commenting or contributing, therefore effectively invisible to the rest of the group or community. (And here's the important part) Generally recommended for joining any forum so that you can observe rules, attitudes and prominent personalities without jumping in and breaking a rule, making an ass of yourself, or asking a question about something obvious that you would have learned for yourself if you'™d paid attention in the first place.

Online equivalent of attentive listening before speaking; potentially the solution to all Internet faux pas.

*sigh*

You wouldn't need constructive criticism if you read the provided materials...

Hide these blogs, please. Its nice that you feel like you want to be here. We always need new enthusiastic people to keep the community going.

But the overall effect is that you're bogarding the community space with your stuff. If you're gonna come and hang out, its kind of bad form to make the place all about you, don't you think?

Anyway, I'd just make the simple request here to hide most of these blogs for tonight, so everybody else's fresh topical stuff is still near the top of our blog list (seen from both the front page and the blogs tab). Feel free then to turn them on some time tomorrow night or whatever, which would in effect keep your archive here, but not splattered en masses amongst some immediately topical E3 blogs from your fellow community members.

We're dicks about this stuff (some of us), but hey, its Destructoid, amirite? but it just comes down to courtesy and respecting the space.

Courtesy is also being nice to the guy despite his actions, there is a friendlier way to tell him about the rules.

It goes both way Tubatic, something this community needs to learn, I don't know if Trejo will say but more than once some newbie does some mistake, he's insulted to hell and back and is never seen again, these extreme reactions over c-blog rule brekage aren't doing the site any favors.

Hey Ricardo. Let me properly welcome you to Destructoid by giving you some good advice. If you want to be part of this community you gotta be able to take the beating we might give you if you do something like not read the rules before posting 5 blogs in a row. It's what we do here. We love giving people shit. The worst thing you can do though is get mad about it.

The best thing to do is to write a good introduction post and let everyone know who you are. Tell us about yourself, like why you enjoy gaming so much, how you found out about Dtoid, what are your favorite games, etc etc. If you do that we will kindly welcome you into the community properly.

I look forward to reading your introduction. ;-)

Agreed with silver dragon. Read the rules, post and an intro. I can see that for the most part you put thought and care into your blogs, that's good. This one not so much but the other 5, more so. If you got something good to write than write a blog thats interesting, a little funny and has a point. Two paragraphs are not enough unless its damn good material and you put in the title: short blog. Always, you got potential, you just got off on the wrong foot. I do look forward to reading your intro blog, but a BIG word of advice, post it tomorrow.

@Jesus

Yea because you offer some sterling contributions to the site, I don't think I've seen a single comment from you that wasn't trolling.

I'm also not backing the guy, if you had even a semblance of reading comprehension you would realize that, all I'm saying is that is there's much better ways to tell a guy what's he doing wrong instead of just being such giant assholes about it, hell look at you, he made one mistake and you're already saying he failed at Destructoid AND insulted him one swoop same with MEE, that's the bullshit I'm talking about.

What's the point of Trejo even posting an intro blog anymore? I mean look at this warm welcome, 32 comments, most of them insults.

@Silver

There's a huge difference between giving people shit and being trolling assholes, again something this community really needs to learn but probably never will.

Oh well, who cares right? None of you give a shit about good blog writers anyway, just the retards like Bahamut and other morons who post shitty blogs with a single image or retarded videos, THOSE blogs get tons of views and tons of comments, even if the comments are just a bunch of idiots spouting memes and posting 4chan reaction images.

Trejo, I'll give one piece of advice, go become a member of website with a better community than this.

@Kyosuke Seriousbusiness: If Trejo didn't post here anymore that would be fine with me. Also, if you haven't seen comments from me that aren't trolling then you're not paying attention. In fact I think the only time I'm even remotely negative is when you go around shitting things up! Also I think you should follow your own advise.

"go become a member of website with a better community than this."

Good luck!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
