I was just airing my disappointment in Live's failure to fix problems.
Let's calculate the money you lost.
$4 a month... down for about 6 hours... that's $.13 a day... so about TWO GODDAMN CENTS.

Acutally I love the satire that Revolt in Colour provides. My blog was mainly about how I don't understand why I must pay for something that doesn't work 100% of the time and that I hardly use it.
I'm not a fanboy. I'm just tired of hearing people bitch about losing $.02 of their monthly investment in Live.
I wanted to join in the Euro FNF but I hadn't downloaded the extra maps to join in and because of this marketplace bullshit I spent nearly an hour and a bit downloading the free maps and hence missed a huge part of the FNF.
The fact is the marketplace shouldn't have fucked up like it did. Letting things like this slide just gives companies like MS no reason to improve their services and this'll just happen again further down the line.
You know very well the money wasn't my issue. If you want to go down that line, your saying it's fine for them to turn the servers off for weeks because it's only $2? NO.
My point was that if they charge me £40 for this (a service they are adding more and more advertising to), I expect it to work flawlessly. When it doesn't, I'm going to kick up a fuss, especially when it was something which could have been avoided.
Did I ever bring up the PSN? No. Did I forgive MS for the downtime? No.
My whole point is that the ones that are whining about this need to stop being a bunch of children.

Actually by telling people to stop bitching about this issue you are implying that it's ok for live to fuck up from time to time. The fact is if you want something to change and/or improve you have to raise the issue or else it will be ignored.

Considering how badly their servers were probably getting raped with downloads, as well as regular friday night/weekend traffic (which is huge) and that it only really affected the marketplace is a pretty big improvement if you ask me.
It's that kind of attitude that let's them get away with stuff like this. Obviously it takes more than us complaining about it on Dtoid but if we want to see a change in anything everyone has to raise the issue and that includes us instead of sweeping it under the carpet.
Why do you think the PS3's online service is improving at the rate it is? Why was the PS3 price dropped so fast? Why did MS extend the 360 warranty to 3 years? Why is wiifit and Mario Kart coming out in Europe before the US? It's because everyone is or at least was bitching about these issues and in the same way we need to raise the issues with live so that MS will be forced to do something about it.
You should probably use it on something more important.

wardrox et al. on the other hand demands that the service is flawless given the fact that they do pay.
I for one am happy with the XBL service and am ok with the little slowdowns it does given its cost. They really should have their servers better configured to put up with upcoming traffic they know will be hitting them...
If service hadn't been fucked up in Dec. no one would even care about what happened on Fri. But now MS is such an easy target because they were stupid and didn't have their servers ready for holiday surge.
I'm perfectly happy with Live. And to be honest, no one here has any idea of the server loads they take and how hard it can be to maintain such a huge service.
Just lighten the fuck up people.

If you seriously think MS will ever "phear us" you're delusional.
Personally I can deal with hiccups in live as long as they focus on improving it and other aspects of their service. Their support sucks ass, even more so than any other companies support service. I will gladly trade in a day of XBL service for that to improve since I have to contact them more with their hardware failings and whatnot.
My concern is, if Destructoid.com were to crash for the period of 24 hours. How large would the rebellion be?
