I'm off for another look!
And thanks to everyone for the loveliest comments ... I'm stunned. You're all too nice.
There's free shipping on Society6 until tomorrow, so if you want to grab a poster, now would be the time. I also added laptop/iphone skins and a t-shirt design - because I wanted to order one for myself (I just did actually :)). Don't mind if you get one yourselves as well.
All available here:

From Cloud, Cait and Barrett to Chell. From Spidey and Supes to Jack Sparrow. SO MANY wonderful memories come to life for me in this print!
Def gotta get me one for the new place, maybe two! I could see covering a whole room with more of your wonderful work!
TOOBIN!!!!
I'm talking about the Darth Vader image towards the bottom that was obviously taken right from a screenshot of Revenge of the Sith, though I'm also seeing a few other things that could be construed in a similar way, like the graffiti next to the guy's half finished bunny -can't remember exactly where its from, its on the tip of my brain.
Not trying to be a downer, but I'd rather not see anyone get a cease and desist (or worse, sued).
Now for some TL;DR
As to BoomingEchoes comment, he is right. This is what's called fan art - as is anything that references popular culture works that you didn't create yourself. And it's not legal. It's not completely illegal either or if I quote Wikipedia: "The legal status of fan made art in America may be tricky due to the vagaries of the United States Copyright Act. ... Display and distribution of fan art that would be considered a derivative work would be unlawful. However, American copyright law allows for the production, display and distribution of derivative works if they fall under a fair use exemption ..."
I'm not claiming this indeed falls under fair use. There are some ripped sprites in there (and indeed a transformed still of Star Wars 3). Even if they are placed there with my best intention of paying a tribute to their work, fair use is tricky and up to the court to decide on a couple of factors.
Personally I don't feel I'm doing something ethically wrong (or I wouldn't be doing this). I made it with my best intentions and only later some friends raised the same copyright questions and made me think about the legal side of this. After reading a lot about this being a gray area and seeing many fan-art posters on Society6 I decided to put it out there for others to enjoy. The occurrence of fans being sued is very rare (although it indeed has its cases) and if any of the copyright holders (or people whose likeness I've stolen) think I'm doing them an economic or moral injustice with this work, I'll just have to honor their cease and desist.
Signed with respect to all.
