and founded his own small game studio. He left Konami on last Saturday and now he hopes that he can develope game(s) that his fans want.
Personally i guess he was everything but satisfied with the course Konami was going with the Castlevania series.
This guy made Castlevania SOTN which is seen as the best Castlevania ever by many of us and it looks like he was not able to work on new games he wanted to make.
He said: "I've decided to break out on my own to have the freedom to make the kind of games I really want to make -- the same kind I think fans of my past games want as well,"
"Leaving Konami was a big decision, and not one I took lightly – I’ve spent my entire career there, made many friends, and had a lot of great opportunities – but I hope all the gamers and fans who have supported me in the past will join me in being excited about what comes next. Wish me luck!”"
Igarashi is presentating a "exploration of his experiences and methodology in creating some of the most popular and influential games in the genre over the last 15 years." at the Game Developers Conference in this week.

Looking forward what this guy has to say.
He worked on almost all of the Castlevania Games since SOTN till Harmony of Despair and also worked on a few of the oldschool shoot'em ups by Konami.
Its quite a trend that people are leaving big publishers these days to form own small studios, eh?
