A new year is beginning and we look to this brand new year, hopeful of new games that won't suck. Well an old wise man once said that if you don't look at where you've been, you'll never get where you're going. I told that old man that I have mapquest and a magellan gps which Ive preloaded with maps beforehand so I know where i'm going.
So in retrospect I give to you my haul from the near end of 2007 great deals which I've accumulated:
Note that not all these games came out on 2007 but I found them to be great deals. I also stress that I found these games NEW and not used because I hate giving my money to Gamestop only to rip me off when I trade in a game.
Dead or Alive 4
Found in: Sears bargain dept store
For: $17.97
Used price estimate at Gameslop: $26.99
I found this game in the bargain bin where tons of great (and bad) games go at the last place you ever thought of buying games (unless youre a Grandma).
Elite Beat Agents
Found in: Sears as well
For: $16.97
Used price estimate at Gamesuck: $16.99 (post-holiday pricedrop), $27.99 (pre-holiday pricedrop)
Fun game, I got this before the price of this game dropped from $29.99 to a mere $19.99 everywhere else. So I still get a great deal on it.
Dead or alive Xtreme 2
Found in: Target
For: $7.48
Used price estimate at Gameflop: $16.99 (post-holiday pricedrop)
I used to work at Target and I just recently discovered the greatness of the Clearance endcap that every dept. You can find the clearance endcap near the games and music equipment aisles near the back wall.
The only reason I actually picked this game is for two reasons:For my love of Black jack. And Boobies. But to my dismay that night I played, the cpu controlled black jack dealer had the nasty habit of pulling out 10s ONLY ON ME 80% of the time leaving me busting most of the time. Now all my $7.48 was spent on boobies that bounce beyond the laws of physics.
Hotel Dusk
Found in: Target
For: $14.98
Used price estimate at Gamesnob: $24.99
Haven't really played much of this but when I saw it at this price I was happy to pay for it since it wasn't GS and it was NEW. I love it when I get games as NEW. I had a bad memory from when I was a kid when my cousin peed all over a super mario famicom cartridge and then gave it to me on my birthday. Yes, I grew with a famicom.
Lunar Knights
Found in: Circuit City
For: $16.96
Used price at Gamesfapfap: $24.99
Awesome game which I've been itching to play ever since I got a DS lite last october. This is another from a long list of gems that Circuit City has been shoving into the bargain bin. But alas, in the middle of all the trash I find this shimmering lil piece of goodness. The last one of my finds is also from the same said bin but is isn't as shimmering.
Bullet Witch
Found in: Circuit City
For: $8.96
Used price at GeStapo: $16.99 (post-holiday pricedrop)
What can I say? I want to see her panties. I love school girl costumes (as long as the girl doesn't look shes 12 and anime). This game was priced twice as much when I saw it a week ago but I came back today in hopes to pick it up for half the price I saw it on Cheap Ass Gamer. This was the same price I'd pay if I rented it so I just purchased it. When I first rented this game from Blockbuster I felt so ripped off I came back to the store and stole some of the posters of the game from the display boxes:
I'm gonna be making a post almost everyday in 2008 that is up to quality so I can possibly be a regular on the c-blogs. Since Japanator doesn't want me. *tear*
I dropped $30 at K-Mart and ended up with $60 at GameStop....helped ease the pain of Rock Band's $170 price tag a bit. :D
I hope the games you traded in were crap titles that wont give gamestop more money. Thats great outsmarting the greedy corporate-types from Gamestop. Unfortunately there aren't many Kmarts around my area. Maybe I'll go look somewhere where they sell 360 games for $5 and do the same.
I hear they love shota over there a lot
Really? That's still a bit more than what they give for most 360 games at Gamestop.
Oh yeah I was supposed to PM you some links about PSP but I can't log on to my forum account cause of some javascript issues with my pooter.
Meh, they weren't anything great. Kameo, Chromehounds, and Tomb Raider Legend (the only one I actually put any time into before trading it in) are the only ones that I can remember. I had multiple copies of some.
But my vote for best deal of the year was getting Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for $48 (20% off) at Target on Black Friday.
I would've tried to beat Tomb Raider Legend as well first. Kameo was just an exercise in frustration. Chromehounds seemed unimpressive.
@Bronxbombr21:
Awesome deal but they just had like a sale on COD4 just last week at target for $37. I couldve picked one up but was too lazy and got there too late. How is Rachet PS3?
Alien Syndrome for ten bucks. Very mediocre Wii game, but it's cool, and ten bucks!
All the virtual console games I bought.
Hotel Dusk has that adventure game feel to it. I haven't put too much time into it yet though. But I like the style and execution.
It just got cut to 20 bucks at Gamestop...here's hoping i feel like buying.
