Hey Destructoiders, did you ever want to have your own Ocarina? Well...if the answer to that question was yes, then the folks over at ThinkGeek have just the product for you.
According to the product features list, it's a real, playable Ocarina, that is made from glazed earthenware. It has six holes which plays notes C4-D5. You also get a song book with instructions on how to play several Zelda tunes. And of course, it has the Tri-Force symbol adorned upon it's stem.
Now I'm not sure if this Ocarina possess' the power to move objects, send you through time and warp you to other locations. And it probably didn't once belong to Princess Zelda...but I'd probably hit it once.
I've had my Ocarina for over a year now. It has a broken mouthpiece after my brother dropped it. I don't know if he's recovered yet.
Seriously, these have been around for years and most of them look a lot better than that one. Also worth noting that a standard ocarina has 8 finger holes, 6 on the front and 2 on the back, which you can see on the ocarine in OoT.
Long story short, why would I buy that when its a gimped ocarina?
I have one of those. Looks like the same model from Songbird Ocarina, the website where I bought mine.
It kicks ass, but the limited range means you can only play some songs fully on the Ocarina. You can play the in game notes on all of them, but hitting the high notes in Zelda's Lullaby and the low notes in Epona's Song just ain't gonna happen.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
