For Sale: Every NES Cartridge Ever Made In Gray
ReclusiveSpirit | 2:28 PM on 08.12.2008 25 comments

You have to see this one for yourselves my friends. Someone is selling on ebay almost 700 NES games and a complete NES system for exactly $3800 dollars. In fact, it's everything you see in the picture above these words.

Here's what the seller has to say. This is it! Every NES cartridge ever made in a gray cartridge. About half the games have the instruction manual. This auction also includes a complete NES System with mint everything, including the posters and warrantee. A boxed Four Score with 2 extra controllers is also included, plus everything else you see on these pics.

It would take me forever to list every single game, but no worries mate! I have a pic of every individual game on nintendoearth.com which is also for sale. Every game and manual you see at nintendoearth.com is the exact item you will recieve.

This feat took me years and thousands to complete. This is my most prized collection which I do not want to give up, but I have some serious family issues where money is needed now.

Two of the games in this collection were never released into circulation for the fact of the SNES was already out. (California Raisins & Final Fantasy 2) The only reason I got my hands on these 2 is video game critics recieved them to review but they never came out.

This probably isn't something that I would buy at this moment in time. For starters, I wouldn't even begin to know where to put all of them! But it sure is awfully nice to look at...and to daydream about for awhile.

You can ebay it here.

It's good to know that the price tag on my childhood memories at least has raises one eyebrow.
I can only imagine what kind of debt/emergency he or his loved ones got into to cause this sort of sale.

For less than four large, you can own every NES cart?

It's less than 6 dollars a cart. Not a bad deal...

@Krahsh...if the story is true, I feel bad the seller has to lose their collection in this way.

You know, although its really cool that this happened, I'm no longer impressed. I've seen these types of sales about a million times.

But still pretty cool.

Free shipping too! Can't beat that! For only about $5 a game not including the system this is an amazing deal.

Funny how these collections are always sold because of family troubles.

California Raisins really sweetens the deal. I think a cart of that only turned up fairly recently.

Pretty impressive, but my retro goggles aren't on too tight in order to think about buying it.

is the FFII cart of the actual II or of IV?

This kind of collection only appeals to "cart only" collectors.

Snobs like me require box, instructions, black plastic, and Styrofoam.

It's not a bad deal at all. I've seen similar auctions in the past sell for more than that. If I had the money, I totally be all over this, but as I am not a rich man... I hope that whatever the seller is going through to make him sell all of this isn't too serious and I wish him the best with everything, because I really do hate having to see people sell things like this.

I have an FF2 cart that I bought for $5, but it's just a fan translation of a Japanese FF2 rom burned to a chip and stuffed in a rather professional looking cartridge.

I'd be interested to know the history of this cart and where he got it from. If it's actually one of the prototypes, then he could sell it separately for BIG money. If not, then you're probably just getting a cheap Chinese knockoff cart.
