I have owned NES,SNES,Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox,Game Cube and now a PS3

So I just bought a PS3 :/

Well I bought it about 3 weeks ago, but really just starting to mess with it an get games. I didnt do much research on it before I bought it. I didnt know the PS3 had about 60 games out if even an I didnt know that all PS3's didnt have backward compatibility. Well my fault for not even googling.

But, I didn't have any other choice. The 360 here is overpriced (like 500$) and while the PS3 was the same price by the time I bought an extra controller, and I'm scared of the stupid RROD. I live in the middle east prices are just outrageous, and if I bought a 360 I would have modded it and got screwed without the warranty.

So I bought the PS3 and in my haste was ignorant to the drastically low # of games. Top that off that I currently dont have a good enough connection to play online and dont have PSN yet.
And the new FF isn't even exclusive SMH! I bought MGS4 and GTA turns out GTA doenst work b/c I have an NTSC system with a freaking PAL CD and no HD. Yeah MGS4 is fun and graphics are great, but it's still the same exact game takes like 10 hours to beat and then its finished unless you play it again on Super Hard.....

Someone give me good news that ALOT of games are on the horizion or something I feel stupid for buyin it.

I do have good games I guess: MGS4 Rainbow Six, Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Assasins Creed..

Also you have to wait till autumn for the big hiiters to come out.

If you can't wait, try plunging into PSN titles, I have and loved most of them,they should tide you over.

Should have gotten a 360 then; thats what I plan on doing. Way too many great RPGs are actually Microsoft exclusive at this point for me to consider the PS3.

The PS3 is region free and so there is no reason why a PAL copy of GTA will not work on an NTSC console.

If you want good games get Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank

Middle East? I used to live there too (Saudi Arabia) and I feel your pain, meng. Just consider yourself lucky to even be able to afford those games, I turned to piracy when I lived there cause I had no choice (and I was poor).

Did you purchase a hard drive for it? You said "I have an NTSC system with a freaking PAL CD and no HD" I didn't think it was possible to play MGS4 without the mandatory install, unless something is different over there or your abbreviation for HD meant high definition.

As others have said, Uncharted is great, Ratchet and Clank too, also COD4, and maybe Devil May Cry 4 if you like those kinds of games. Keep an eye out for the new ones coming out in a few months like Little Big Planet.

I have Uncharted, actually the reason GTA doesn't work has something to do with my TV from what i've read but I tried it on NTSC TV an same bullshit happened... so i traded it. MGS4 is fun but it's a game you got to be alone to play to really get into it, not a game you just pop in an jump right into anyone who says different is lieing.

Also HD is 750 bucks I just dont feel like scratching it up. And on another note I had my PS1 like 2 months after it realesed I just expected Sony to have great games out and a bigger selection I dunno maybe I'm wrong

You probably would have been better off buying or building a new gaming PC. dont have to worry about region coding, games are cheaper & plentiful, online is more compatible.

as for PS3 games, it's entirely subjective. Some people will tell you things like "Fat Princess" though that game may not appeal to you at all, just like it doesnt appeal to me.

yeah theres a lot of good games, but additionally a handful of great games too. Take Little Big Planet. No other console will have an even remotely similar experience. LBP looks to set the bar for user generated content on consoles. I tend to buy multi-platform on 360 (because of the controller & unified online) but I have my PS3 for that handful of titles you can't get anywhere else. Once we get into late 2008-09 I think I'll the titles that will make my PS3 worth it FOR ME.

Titles like Little Big Planet, Warhawk (I hope 2 has a campaign) Superstar Dust and Insomniac's Ratchet series to name a few. And while you're right, there isn't a whole lot at the monet, I think we'll be seeing a handful of great titles. I'll quality over quantity.
