And they are putting Daniel Plainview to shame. But instead of leasing land and draining oil they are wowing alot of 3rd party game makers into making exclusive games for their console Xbox 360.
As consumers, or rather loyal game fans I think we should feel insulted. Now I know alot of people here have all three next gen consoles and they get my congratulations but I can't afford it so bugger off. Anyway take Tales of Vesperia, a game that is part of the Tales series which date back to SNES if im not mistaken, ps1 and also two titles on PS2, this game is boosting Xbox sales in Japan and thats great but what about me? I'm a fan of the series I've owned some of the games and I want to fucken play it but I don't got a damn 360 so Im screwed. Well I'll be damned if I even by a game by that company again.
I guess my arguement is that I'm not a console fan I'm a game fan and I don't expect consumer giants like Microsoft or Sony to feel my pain but for christsakes alot of the people that make games are gamers and they should try to get their product to as many people as possible period.
Hey I get it the name of the game is to make money and more power to ya, but why the hell is Diseaga 3 a PS3 exclusive if I owned and xbox I would be pissed. But hey your only important until you purchase a system then your just another number.
I think I've learned my lesson from all of this. My next generation console wont be a console it will be a shiny PC with a huge screen and some wireless controls.
And on a sidenote with all this exclusive bullshit going on I totally support game pirating fight the power
So because the console makers are trying to get exclusives (which I do agree is more often than not something that only hurts the end user), you advocate hurting the developers, publishers and everyone all the way UP to the console makers by pirating games? How does that even work? If anything, by pirating games you're hurting developers the most and the console makers the least.
But even aside from that, I can't exactly see how pirating a game which is exclusive to a console you don't own is exactly going to help you out.
Yeah but I'm saying I don't blame console makers I blame developers for only allowing a their games to be released on certain systems. Also I own a ps3 not much chance of me pirating anything but I when I get a Wii or 360 if I get one I will pirate because obviously developers of series Ive played forever dont really care to much if I only own one system or not so why should I care about their finances?
How about because you still want to play the game, and the game costs money? This sort of thinking that somehow you're entitled to something just because it fits in with what the developers have done before gets on my nerves. The developers don't owe you anything and you may well want to argue that it's better for gamers to have games released on multiple systems, I agree - but that's just the ideal scenario. It's not your right, so if you want to play the game either pay the money or suck it up.
Have you thought about the GTA case? Didn't Microsoft pay an whooping 50 million to get some exclusive content? In some cases the console makers are to blame.
lol in srsness, it really is up to the developer if they want to hurt there revenue with going one platform only. Unless it's an obvious one like Halo 3 or Brawl.
I hear ya.. My g/f played Tales of Vesparia (sp?) demo and it looks almost exactly like Eternal Sonata.. Which, can be both good and bad I guess. Good: pretty and a nice game. Bad: coz upon renting Eternal Sonata, she beat it in like 3 days, and didn't want to buy it _at all_ (for future DLC or whatnot).
I dislike exclusives just as much as anyone else, so, if you're going for a gaming computer next time around.. More power to you.. I think I will join you on that. :o/
To me its seems there's been less 3rd party exclusives this generation than during the previous gen. Many games that were initially exclusive to 360 have been ported over to the PS3 and games that have been in the past associated with PS3 have been announced as multi-platform.
I have a PS3 and 360 so I actually hope that the continue to try and out do each other.
Console exclusive games are usually the highest quality. I'm not going to complain about high quality games, in fact, I'm glad I have reasons to own all three systems.
Someone mentioned exclusive games have been around forever, and my arguement for that is consoles used to be afforadable when PS2 came out it was 200$ xbox around the same an nintendo gamecube was cheap enough also. Who has the cash to spend 1000 dollars on 3 game systems without considering buying games for any system or extra controllers hdmi cables etc.. All I want is games for my damn system and I fail ripped off when I hear certain franchises are making their sequels exclusive to a certain system.
Actually it doesn't matter if companies get exclusive IP's but I think series should be given to all systems. My thing is just not understanding how someone could make a game an be satisfied if that DIDNT get played by every gamer who had the required system specs to play it.
Last one about my spelling errors I type fast I don't proof read probably dumb on my part but thats what it is why does my age matter its only a number anyway i'm 24 if you must know thx for asking :)

This "exclusive bullshit" has been around forever... why are you whining about it now?

Somebody's gonna get their milkshake strawed.
Get a job and you can get a ps3 and a 360.

Is this dude in high school? He seems immature, selfish, and makes many spelling errors.
I'm a console fan, and I'll gladly say it here. PS3 rocks. It shares games with the 360, the 360 shares games with it, and we're all happy campers ;-)

Sounds like you're just whining to justify piracy to yourself.
I swear to god, if game companies go down i am going to find you and DESTROY YOU!!!!
Also, cocks.
DRRRRRRRRRRRRAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEEEEE!
Console exclusive games are usually the highest quality. I'm not going to complain about high quality games, in fact, I'm glad I have reasons to own all three systems.
There is a seriously lack of NOT in this post
Can't you all see? He just posted this so that I can leave the comment
