I hate the fact that you're getting a FF related tattoo, but I admit it is better than the shitty, cliche Nintendo-related tattoos out there.
You shouldn't care if it screams "gamer" or "dork" or whatever, just as long as it's not something cliche that probably thousands of other "cool" kids out there already have.

Trust me, go with whatever you want to get the most. Therfore, Magitek on the forearm. Inner forearm is easier unless you're really into shaving yourself.
Thanks for the comments guys, I knew you guys would like the idea as much as I did
@ Sadistic, A big daddy Tattoo or shadow of the collosus tat or would be pretty cool, but I was not raised on gaming this gen, I'm nearly 29 and naturally I go with a tat that would harken back to my "golden age" of gaming, the SNES era. and nothing epitomizes that more than FFVI, this has nothing to do with peopular reasoning BECAUSE FINAL FANTASY IS SOOOOO KEWL!!
This tattoo represent the most memorable 70+ hours of gaming i have ever had the pleasure of experiencing in my 29 years.
@wrath simply saying tats suck would have been more to the point, you sounded very bitter

Getting the magitek armor would be pretty badass. Put it on your shoulder blade. Also, that picture of Celes would look great as a forearm tattoo.
I was all about getting the Buster Sword or the FFVII Meteor, but I'm having second thoughts. Tattoos are a big deal and hard to decide upon.
That'd actually make a really good tattoo. particularly if you work the colour in there too.
Post pics when its done!!!

as a tattoued myself i strongly advise you to think about what you are doing first and answer these question
1- do you want this symbol on your body forever?
2- do you know a good *and im telling you GOOD*tattoo shop?
3- do i know the fact that many artist can do something even more impressive *tattoo is not only limited to tick black lines or pale colors anymore*
4- if you plan on doing colors,is the artist good enough to not make them pale?
5-do i know about the procedures?
6- if i live in a small city or town...is a good and reputed artist have a shop near me?
-if yes ,do i like is style?
-if no , am i prepared to make a long travel to a good artist
7-is it my first?
-if yes ,am i really prepared for this ?
-if no , am i happy with the one i have?
8- is it gonna hurt? - its not a question this one its an affirmation..ITS GONNA HURT YES! maybe not the first 30 minutes but after one hour its beggining to be a pain in the a**... i recomend 2 hours session by days or even by weeks if you start becoming tired after the first hour...its not a question of toughness or endurance ,no one can be tough when a needle is penetrating their skin a hundred time per minute
9- last question... look at your desing and think...do you want a little tattoo like everybody else?...or do you want something impressive and wich make you say...damn...that nice every time you look in the mirror? ...i say...take a picture of a detailed magitek and bring it to a good tattoo artist and say...go on...make me a living piece of art ...it may cost you much and make you feel longer pain but damn...just think about how nice it would be to have the best final fantasy tattoo around?!
